Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Location: York, PA
Pay: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3/hour

Position Summary
We are hiring experienced structural steel fabricators for a contract-to-hire opportunity in York, PA. The role may focus on fitting or a combination of fitting and Flux Core welding based on experience. Successful candidates will work from drawings to prepare, position, fit, and assemble structural steel while meeting quality and safety requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Measure, mark, and lay out structural steel for fabrication.
- Position, align, and secure steel members for proper fit-up.
- Fit and assemble components before welding.
- Perform Flux Core welding for the Welder/Fitter position.
- Set up and operate a track torch.
- Use and maintain welding and fabrication tools and equipment properly.
- Check measurements, alignment, fit, and finished work for accuracy.
- Work with supervisors and coworkers to keep production on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all required workplace and safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of structural steel fabrication experience.
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar position.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
- Working knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to set up and operate a track torch.
- Ability to perform Flux Core welding and pass a pre-employment welding test.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate workmanship.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices. Preferred: AWS or other recognized welding certification.
