Privacy

RemJobs is a map of startups and the people who founded them. This page covers two groups: people who use the site, and founders whose details appear on it.

If you are listed on the map

What we hold: for each company, its name, website, description, city, LinkedIn page, careers page and, where it publishes one, office address. For its founders: name, title, LinkedIn profile where the company links to it, and a work email address at the company's domain.

Where it comes from: public sources only. The company's own website, its public job board, and public mentions of its founders. We do not buy data. Work email addresses are either published by the company or checked by asking the company's mail server whether the address exists; no message is sent. Each address is labelled with how it was obtained.

Why: so that members, typically job seekers, founders and people building partnerships, can find companies and write to the people who run them. For people in the EU and UK, our basis is legitimate interests: this is business contact information about your role at your company, used for business contact.

Your choices: you can ask us to correct your details, remove your name and email, or remove the company altogether. Write to remjobs.works@gmail.com from your work address and name the company; we act within 72 hours. Every company page links to this.

If you use the site

Browsing: the pages you visit, the site that referred you, and your approximate country, recorded by the analytics services below. Microsoft Clarity also records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) to show us where the site is confusing; founder contacts and your account details are hidden from it, and it does not run if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Nothing you type into the map's search is stored.

An account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. Clerk runs sign-in; we keep your email and name next to your subscription.

A subscription: Dodo Payments takes the payment as merchant of record. We never see your card. We keep Dodo's customer and subscription identifiers, your plan and the date it renews or ends. We also count how many company pages each account opens per day, to stop the directory being copied wholesale.

Who processes it

These are the third parties involved. Each has its own privacy policy, and data reaches only the ones listed.

ClerkSign-in. Holds your email, password or Google sign-in, and session.

Dodo PaymentsPayments and subscriptions, as merchant of record. Receives your payment details and billing address directly.

SupabaseThe database. Holds your email, name, plan and Dodo identifiers.

CloudflareHosting. Processes every request and derives the approximate country.

Map and logo hostsOpenFreeMap serves the map tiles, logos are served from our own logos.remjobs.works host on Cloudflare, and flagcdn serves flags. Your browser fetches these directly, so they see your IP address, as any website you load does.

DataFastSite analytics and crawler measurement.

Google AnalyticsSite analytics: pages visited and how people arrive.

Microsoft ClarityHeatmaps and session recordings: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, with founder contacts and account details masked.

What is not done

Members' data is not sold or shared with advertisers, and there is no advertising on this site. What a subscription buys is access to the directory, not information about other members.

How long it is kept

Directory entries are kept while the company is listed and are refreshed from the same public sources. Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists and, for billing records, as long as tax law requires.

Deleting your account

Write to remjobs.works@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. Cancelling a subscription is done from your account page.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. See also the terms of service.
