How RemJobs builds this directory

Every listing here was read from a company's own careers page. Nothing is bought, syndicated, or copied from another job board. This page describes how that works and — the part most directories leave out — how often it gets things wrong.

Where listings come from

We read 240 career pages directly from the applicant tracking system each company runs. When a company posts a role, it appears on its own board first; we check those boards rather than waiting for the listing to reach an aggregator.

Sources are polled on a rolling schedule. Right now the least-recently-checked source was read 2 hours ago — so nothing in this directory is older than that since its last verification.

What we classify, and how often we can't

Career pages publish free text. To make 17,353 roles filterable we classify each one into fixed categories, and that classification is imperfect by construction. The right-hand column is the share of open roles where it currently falls through — measured against the live database, not estimated.

Role category

Classified from the job title and the department the board reports. Where neither is recognisable, the role is filed as “other” and appears in no role hub.

Derived from the free-text location. 2,102 distinct location strings across the corpus; the ones we cannot place fall to “other”.

Employment type

Full-time, part-time, contract or internship — but only when the posting says so. We do not infer it, so most listings carry none.

Read from the title. Titles that state no level default to “mid”, which is a placeholder rather than a judgement.

Extracted from the title and description against a fixed vocabulary. This is the share of postings where we found at least one.

Salary

None of the boards we read publish a salary field. We show nothing rather than an estimate.

A role we cannot classify is still listed and still searchable. It simply does not appear under the filter it could not be placed in, which is why these numbers are worth publishing: they are the ceiling on how complete any filtered view here can be.

What we don't know

• Salary. Not one of the 17,353 open roles carries one, because none of the boards we read expose a salary field. Where you see no salary, it is because we have none — not because it is hidden.
• Employer verification. We confirm a career page belongs to the company whose domain serves it. We do not vet the employer, the role, or the hiring process.
• Company data. No headcount, funding or revenue figures. Descriptions come from the company's own site.
• Whether a role is still open. We know when a posting disappears from its board, which is not the same as knowing when it was filled. Apply promptly.
