Painter / Material Handler
Location: York, PA
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available
Pay: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience
2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Painter / Material Handler to support painting and production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. Painting will make up approximately 20% of the role, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable performing a variety of shop duties, including material handling, overhead crane operation, loading, rigging, and measuring.
Responsibilities
- Perform industrial painting tasks, approximately 20% of the role
- Operate overhead cranes to move materials and support production
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
- Perform rigging activities for equipment and materials
- Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately
- Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment as needed
- Complete respiratory fit testing and follow required safety procedures
- Assist with various production and shop duties as assigned
- Adapt to changing tasks and support different areas of the operation
- Follow PPE requirements and safe handling procedures when working with chemicals and equipment
Requirements
- Previous painting experience and knowledge of painting techniques
- Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment
- Experience with rigging and loading/unloading materials
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
- Ability to pass a respiratory fit test
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Comfortable performing a variety of duties in a fast-paced shop environment
- Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and proper PPE use
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to take on tasks outside of painting
