Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler
Location: York, PA
Schedule: 2nd Shift
Starting Pay: $22.00/hour + $3.00/hour night shift differential
Higher rates may be available based on experience.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable Overhead Crane Operator / Material Handler to support daily steel-handling operations. This role involves moving and loading materials, operating equipment, and assisting with yard activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to safely move and load structural steel
- Use Pettibone equipment to transport steel throughout the yard
- Unload incoming trailers and organize materials
- Jockey trailers around the yard as needed
- Follow safe material-handling practices
- Maintain reliable attendance and follow scheduled work hours
- Work safely in an outdoor environment and changing weather conditions
Requirements
- Previous experience operating cranes or handling materials
- Required: Experience loading structural steel with an overhead crane
- Experience with Pettibone or similar material-handling equipment is a plus
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively as part of a team
Training may be provided on certain equipment for candidates who have relevant material-handling experience.
