CNC Machine Operator – Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Pay: Up to $27/hour, based on experience
Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available
2nd Shift Differential: +$3/hour
Position Overview
We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator with experience in steel fabrication and CNC production equipment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with plasma cutting, sawing, drilling, or beamline machinery and is comfortable working with overhead cranes and steel materials.
This position involves regular material handling and requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
What You’ll Do
- Operate CNC and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work with equipment such as:
- Kinetic Plasma Table
- Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line
- Peddinghaus Angle Master
- Ficep Beamline
- Determine appropriate machine settings for the material and production requirements.
- Verify material type, stock size, dimensions, and quantities before processing.
- Measure steel and other materials to confirm they meet design specifications.
- Apply required part information and production data to materials.
- Maintain accurate daily records of production activities and material usage.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Identify equipment problems and assist with basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer/conveyance systems.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing sawing, drilling, or cutting operations is required.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, symbols, and technical notes preferred.
- Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and material transfer/conveyor systems.
- Tekla PowerFab experience preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in both hot and cold industrial environments.
- Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
