About the role
The First Year Representative is responsible for promoting and advertising our service to the first-year students. The Representative will work on advocating for and spreading more information about the Prospectus and its many uses in order to help Yearbook and Prospectus reach a larger audience.
Time Commitment
- 2-3 hr/week
Term of Employment
- October 2026 - May 2027
Main Responsibilities
- Engage with all team portfolios, including Marketing, Digital Design, and External
- Help carry out various portfolio responsibilities
- Brainstorm ideas to better connect the student body with YBP
- Attend weekly / bi-weekly meetings with various portfolios
Qualifications
- Passionate about marketing and promotions
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Canva and Photoshop (or equivalent)
- Willing to stay invested and communicate for the entire term of
- employment
Anticipated Learning Outcomes
FIRST YEAR REPRESENTATIVE should be able to develop their communication skills throughout their term. As FIRST YEAR REPRESENTATIVE, incumbents will also be able to meet and develop connections with business professionals. In addition, incumbents will have opportunities to use and develop skills in (but not limited to) the following areas:
● Collaboration and leadership skills development
● Creative direction and event planning
● Independent and collaborative work
