About the role
Cota Robotics puts robots to work in retail stores. They take on the repetitive, time-consuming jobs like inbounding goods, replenishing shelves and sorting stock, currently mostly overnight. They're driven from our control room in Stockholm and increasingly run on their own. We raised a €1.92M pre-seed in August 2026 and are live with retailers in Sweden and Finland. We're a small team based at Sankt Eriksgatan in Stockholm, where half the office is our own dark store.
About the role
You’ll work hands-on with the robot. Grippers, actuators, sensors, wiring, mounts, whatever the robot needs to survive a real store. Some of it will be properly engineered. Some of it needs to work by Thursday. You should be comfortable with both.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and fix electrical and mechanical subsystems on the robot
Deploy robots into stores and see firsthand where they break
Turn what you learn in stores into the next version of the hardware
Work across the whole stack, including electronics, mechanics, wiring, and integration
What we’re looking for
A generalist comfortable across a broad range of components and disciplines
A tinkerer, maker, or someone who has taken more things apart than they’ve put back together
Able to make something work in the short term and improve it later without confusing the two
At home in a chaotic, fast-moving environment
Ready to learn, even when that means researching unfamiliar issues as they arise
You must already have the right to work in Sweden, as unfortunately, we’re not able to offer visa sponsorship at our current stage
Why join
Build on real robots operating in real stores
Work across disciplines rather than in a narrow silo
Learn quickly from field deployments and hardware feedback
Help shape the next version of the system
