We’re looking for a strong writer and close observer of culture and emerging trends, from entertainment and social platforms to technology, sports, business, and broader conversations.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day corporate communications and content, including announcements, business updates, newsletters, presentations, social content, and other materials.
- Draft, edit, and proofread clear, engaging content for internal and external audiences, with a focus on LinkedIn and other digital and social platforms.
- Help manage WPP Media’s LinkedIn presence, including content calendars, executive content, company news, thought leadership, and audience engagement opportunities.
- Develop stories that showcase WPP Media’s people, expertise, innovation, client work, partnerships, and perspective on the future of media and marketing.
- Support thought leadership, including articles, reports, POVs, executive bylines, and other content that demonstrates WPP Media’s expertise.
- Monitor news, social media, competitors, and emerging trends across music, entertainment, sports, technology, business, and culture to identify relevant opportunities.
- Support earned, owned, and social amplification by researching journalists and publications, maintaining media lists, tracking outreach, monitoring coverage, and summarizing conversation and sentiment.
- Help coordinate communications around announcements, industry moments, conferences, awards, events, and other business milestones.
- Support executive communications materials, including briefings, talking points, presentations, LinkedIn content, and related materials.
- Work with subject matter experts and internal teams to gather information and turn complex topics into clear, compelling content.
- Collaborate with marketing, internal communications, events, and global colleagues to coordinate messaging, identify stories, and bring broader perspective to U.S. communications.
- Maintain editorial calendars, communications trackers, media lists, content libraries, coverage reports, and reporting inputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field, plus 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
- Interest in learning about complex business challenges and ability to translate information into clear, concise, engaging content.
- Naturally curious and highly engaged with culture, with interest in music, entertainment, social media, sports, technology, business, and broader cultural forces.
- Strong research, organization, and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Comfortable collaborating with stakeholders, gathering information proactively, and working independently while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Interest in corporate communications, thought leadership, content development, social media, and reputation-building.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, digital content, media monitoring, or social listening is a plus.
- Professional, collaborative, proactive, resourceful, and eager to learn.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for onsite event support.
- Experience in advertising, media, marketing, technology, or professional services is a plus.
