Role Summary and Impact
This role is within WPP Media, where you will be instrumental in leading end-to-end data enablement and reporting for the Wendy’s business. You’ll oversee reporting infrastructure, data integration, transformation, quality assurance, dashboard delivery, and data governance. Working closely with analytics, activation, planning, data science, clients, and technical stakeholders, you’ll ensure reliable reporting data supports accurate insights and client deliverables.
The opportunity combines technical leadership, operational ownership, stakeholder management, and team development of an onshore and offshore reporting team. You’ll help strengthen reporting processes, connect new data sources, improve data quality, and support the evolution of the reporting environment. Supported by the broader Data Enablement and Reporting Center of Excellence, you’ll gain exposure to enterprise best practices, standardized reporting frameworks, emerging technologies, and shared technical expertise across WPP Media.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end data-to-dashboard workflow, from media platform extraction and data transformation through quality assurance, reporting delivery, and handoff to analytics teams.
- Oversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of reporting infrastructure, dashboards, visualizations, and recurring deliverables.
- Guide the reporting team in using SQL, data modeling, extraction, transformation, and data engineering practices to deliver stable and scalable solutions.
- Establish and maintain robust data quality, validation, reconciliation, mapping, parsing, taxonomy, and governance processes for paid media data.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies, conduct root-cause analysis, and recommend or implement solutions across source platforms, data models, transformation logic, and dashboards.
- Define requirements for new data sources and lead the team in evaluating effective approaches for data connections, joins, and reporting integration.
- Oversee reporting production and quality assurance, ensuring deliverables are accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned with business objectives.
- Manage and develop an onshore and offshore team of reporting professionals through clear priorities, coaching, collaboration, and effective work allocation.
- Serve as a trusted partner to Wendy’s clients and internal stakeholders, explaining reporting solutions and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and identify process improvements that streamline repetitive tasks, strengthen delivery standards, and improve reporting operations.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-7+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, data enablement, marketing or media data, media analytics, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced, hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, maintenance, visualization, and reporting delivery.
- Strong SQL skills, including joining datasets, querying multiple data sources, and evaluating appropriate data integration approaches.
- Meaningful experience with extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, data transformation, reporting pipelines, and data modeling, including schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables.
- Professional experience with paid media, digital advertising, marketing data, media analytics, ad technology, or agency reporting environments.
- Strong data quality and governance capabilities, including validation, reconciliation, data hygiene, taxonomy, mapping, parsing, documentation, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience working with data from search, social, Amazon, Google, demand-side platforms, or other digital media and advertising environments.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or managing reporting or analytics professionals, including collaboration with onshore and offshore teams.
- Exposure to Python, BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform, dbt, application programming interfaces (APIs), Tableau, Looker, or comparable data and reporting technologies is preferred.
