Position Description:
We are looking for an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Construction team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil and/or construction engineering and a valid driver's license. MDOT experience is preferred. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to work well with others.
We are looking for an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Construction team to improve infrastructure in our Taylor office. Candidates must have bachelor's degree in civil and/or construction engineering and a valid driver's license. MDOT experience is preferred. Individuals must be self-motivated and able to work well with others.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Interpret project plans and specifications
- Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
- Conduct field or laboratory material test
- Maintain project files and record drawings
- Prepare construction reports
- Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
- Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
- Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
- Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
- Monitor task budget and progress
- Prepare project status and other reports
- Assist in the preparation of proposals
- Assist Project Managers
- Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
- Attend seminars and/or training classes
- Maintain excellent client relations
- Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering
Skills/Experience:
- 0 to 4 years of related experience
- A valid driver's license required
- MDOT experience is preferred
