The role
The Deputy Head of Compliance is a senior member of Trading 212 Money Europe Limited's (the 'Company' or 'T212 MIE') Compliance function, supporting the Head of Compliance in establishing and maintaining a robust compliance framework. The role carries delegated responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the compliance framework as a Central Bank of Ireland (CBI)-regulated Payment Institution.
The Deputy Head of Compliance deputises for the Head of Compliance in their absence or where otherwise required, including in engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and other authorities.
The role is a Controlled Function (CF2) under the Central Bank's Fitness & Probity regime, being a function related to ensuring, controlling or monitoring the Company's compliance with its relevant obligations.
What you'll do
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company's compliance framework, policies and procedures, and take delegated ownership of defined components of it.
Maintain and execute the compliance monitoring programme, including testing; issue identification; remediation tracking; and escalation to the Head of Compliance.
Maintain the Company's Fitness & Probity processes, including controlled function records; pre-appointment due diligence; and annual certification.
Maintain the Company's compliance registers, records, and evidence base to a standard that withstands regulatory scrutiny.
Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and provide regulatory and compliance advice to the Company on areas including payment services regulation; operational resilience; consumer protection; the Individual Accountability Framework; products; promotions.
Support the Company's response to regulatory inspections, thematic reviews, information requests and remediation programmes.
Support the timely submission of required regulatory reporting to the CBI.
Support the Head of Compliance in the preparation of compliance reporting and management information for the Board, governance committees and global governance forums.
Help foster a strong organisation-wide culture of compliance and best practice.
What you need to have
Educated to a degree level in Law, Finance or a related field is desirable.
5+ years of compliance experience within regulated Irish financial institutions.
Line management experience, or demonstrable readiness to take on line management responsibility, is required.
In-depth knowledge of the regulatory requirements incumbent upon an Irish payment institution.
Deep knowledge and demonstrable experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies and procedures.
Demonstrable ability to use artificial intelligence and other technology to enhance work outcomes together with a sound understanding of its limitations and the control, data protection and record-keeping considerations that apply to its use in a regulated environment.
High standards of conduct and ethics.
A "right first time" attitude and excellent attention to detail.
Capable of working independently or as part of a team, and comfortable operating with autonomy when deputising.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to present to senior stakeholders and regulators.
Nice to have
Experience working at payment institutions and/or e-money institutions would be highly desirable.
Professional certifications such as LCOI, ICA and/or equivalent.
