About the role
About Thndr
Thndr is Egypt's leading digital retail investment platform and the country's first investment supermarket. We were ranked the number one fastest growing company in Africa in the 2026 Statista and Financial Times ranking, the first Egyptian company to top the list, and we're the number one brokerage in Egypt, with close to 6 million downloads and more than US$1 billion in customer assets. We were admitted as the first ever remote trading member of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, have received in-principle approval from the Saudi Capital Market Authority, and are backed by some of the most prominent global and regional venture capital investors.
About The Role
We're building a Finance function capable of supporting Egypt's Home for Deposits and the MENA region's Home for Active Trading. You'll help build our FP&A capability from the ground up: the group model, the budget and reforecast cycle, monthly performance reporting, and the unit economics the leadership team runs the business on. Alongside that sits Strategic Finance — being the finance partner on decisions. Pricing and revenue model design, new product and market business cases, partnership economics, capital allocation, and corporate development. Wherever a decision hinges on a number nobody has built yet, that's your work. You'll also own investor and board reporting and support our fundraising, which means the numbers you build don't just inform internal decisions — they're what our investors and board see.
You'll also play a key supporting role in building our Investment Banking 2.0. Egypt's productive economy is far larger than its investable economy, and a great deal of real economic activity has no route to public or retail capital. We're building the capability to change that: originating retail-first investment products, and advising the businesses traditional capital markets underserve, including startups and SMEs. Think of it as investment banking pointed at underserved segments. You'll be part of building that from scratch — structuring, modelling, underwriting analysis and advisory work.
You'll report to the Group Head of Finance and the Head of Investment Banking, and work directly with the founders, the board and our investors. Both functions are being built from the ground up, and you'll be central to getting them there.
What You'll Do
FP&A
Own and build the group business plan and strategic financial plan as the single source of truth for planning, board and investor reporting, and fundraising
Establish and run the annual budget and quarterly reforecast cycle with business and functional leads
Produce monthly performance reporting: actuals versus budget and forecast, variance analysis, and a clear read on what's driving the business
Build visibility on unit economics, revenue drivers and cost drivers — acquisition cost, revenue per funded account, contribution margin by product and market — and turn it into a framework the business runs on
Own cash, runway and scenario forecasting, flagging inflection points before they arrive
Strategic Finance
Build the financial case behind pricing and revenue model decisions, including commission structures, fee design and partnership economics
Model new product and new market business cases, including the financials behind regulatory applications
Support corporate development: opportunity screening, valuation, structuring and diligence
Run capital allocation analysis and support prioritisation decisions across the business
Build visibility on the cost base and identify where spend can be optimised without slowing the business down
Investor Relations
Own investor reporting: the monthly and quarterly updates, KPI packs and metrics our investors receive, delivered on a reliable cadence
Own board reporting — the board pack, the supporting analysis, and the numbers behind every discussion in the room
Support fundraising end to end: the model, the data room, diligence responses, and investor-facing materials
Be a point of contact for investor questions and ad-hoc information requests, and turn them around fast
Maintain the cap table and track shareholder and reporting obligations
Investment Banking
Support the origination of new investment products: structuring, financial modelling, underwriting analysis and risk assessment
Build valuation and transaction models for prospective issuers and portfolio opportunities
Support advisory mandates for startups, SMEs and other businesses preparing to access capital
Prepare investment memos, committee papers and client-facing materials
Contribute to the investment framework, governance and risk limits as the function is stood up
What You’ll Need
3–5 years in investment banking, analyst 3 through associate level — time in a genuine deal environment is the core requirement
Exceptional financial modelling skills
Command of valuation across methodologies, and the judgement to know which one the situation calls for
Strong three-statement fundamentals and the ability to build fully linked operating models
Experience running or supporting live transactions end to end
Track record producing IC memos, pitch materials, IMs, board packs or equivalent to institutional standard
Strong educational and academic background; CFA a strong plus
Nice to have
Structuring or origination experience — real estate, private placements, debt, securitisation, or equity capital markets
ECM or IPO execution experience, including regulatory documentation and prospectus work
Fintech, brokerage or asset management experience
Egyptian or MENA capital markets experience
Regional exposure — experience across GCC or wider MENA markets, or on cross-border transactions
SME or startup advisory exposure
CFA charterholder or candidate
