ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
We are looking for an experienced Lead Product Designer to join our Design team in Barcelona to lead day-to-day product design for The Bump, while supporting strategic media initiatives across The Knot Worldwide (TKWW) brand portfolio.
This role is structured so you spend most of your time on The Bump, shaping core consumer product features, content tools, and user journeys across web, iOS, and Android. The remaining time will focus on Global Media Sales (GMS), creating sponsored features and scalable monetization solutions that serve all TKWW brands.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Editorial, and GMS stakeholders to understand customer needs, define opportunities, and shape product strategy. Sitting at the intersection of trusted content, digital product tools, and media monetization, this role requires a designer who can balance user value with business outcomes and move fluidly between strategy, systems thinking, and execution.
The Knot Worldwide Design team is a close group of Product Designers, Product Writers, and Researchers who value strong craft, open critique, thoughtful collaboration, and shared ownership of the overall customer experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end product design for The Bump across web, iOS, and Android, owning day-to-day feature execution while setting the UX/visual quality bar and shaping core product strategy.
- Partner with the Global Media Sales (GMS) team to design sponsored content integrations and monetization touchpoints across the full family of TKWW brands.
- Partner directly alongside our Engineering and Product Management teams to shape direction, align execution priorities, and accelerate delivery timelines.
- Connect content, product functionality, and pathways that help users discover relevant tools on The Bump, while ensuring ad-tech integrations across TKWW brands maintain customer trust and high usability standards.
- Drive design from problem framing through rapid prototyping, iteration, UX/UI design, and delivery-ready specs, helping teams validate solutions quickly and move into development with clarity.
- Create scalable, high-quality design solutions and reusable component patterns, contributing to the broader evolution of TKWW's design systems across all brand properties.
- Bring structure to complex product spaces, using research, user analytics, and post-launch results to identify growth opportunities and resolve UX debt.
- Leverage AI and modern tools to prototype, compress exploration loops, and elevate the speed and output quality of product development.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- 6+ years of product design experience, with a proven track record of leading complex, high-impact consumer product areas across strategy, UX, visual design, and execution.
- Exceptional visual and interaction design craft, with a portfolio showing polished execution, clear UX architecture, and scalable system patterns.
- Versatility to switch fluidly between core app/web product design (The Bump) and cross-brand ad-tech/monetization solutions (GMS across TKWW).
- Advanced systems thinking, with the ability to connect experiences across multi-brand platforms, dynamic journeys, and commercial touchpoints.
- Strong product judgment, with experience using research, usability testing, and behavioral analytics to inform design choices.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with dev teams and Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Design leadership.
- A bias toward rapid prototyping and leveraging AI to make abstract ideas tangible, explore solutions quickly, and unblock engineering partners.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, bringing structure to undefined problem spaces, and driving domain-level alignment independently.
- Experience with consumer mobile apps, content-rich platforms, ad-tech, commerce, or multi-brand ecosystems is a strong plus.
