Work Your Way:
At Spreetail, we believe in empowering our employees to work in the way that suits them best through our Work Your Way approach. Each team member has the flexibility to choose where they work most effectively each week—whether that's from home, a coffee shop, or the office. While flexibility is key, we also value the power of in-person connection. That’s why we bring our corporate team together in Lincoln each quarter for a week of intentional collaboration, team building, community engagement, and our All-Hands meeting. It’s the best of both worlds: the freedom to work your way, with meaningful opportunities to connect and grow together. Please scroll to the bottom of the job posting to confirm that your state qualifies for the Work Your Way program.
Spreetail is seeking a Sr. Director, Retail FP&A to lead Merchandise Finance in a high-visibility role reporting directly to our CFO, with close day-to-day partnership across our Chief Merchandising Officer, Chief Growth Officer, and Chief Operating Officer to design, build, and execute our retail merchandise plan. This role extends beyond merchandise to own FP&A for our Channels & Business Development and Marketing teams, giving you full visibility and influence over the total Retail P&L. We're looking for a leader who can build and scale a team, set a long-term vision, and still roll up their sleeves to get into the model, the data, or the deck when the business needs it. If you thrive in ambiguity, love using data and technology to move fast, and want to drive real business outcomes rather than just report on them, this is your seat at the table.

How you will achieve success:
- Partner directly with the CMO, Chief Growth Officer, and COO to build Spreetail's retail merchandise plan, translating strategic priorities into forward-looking financial models and analysis.
- Own FP&A across Merchandise/Retail, Channels & Business Development, and Marketing — tracking weekly performance against plan and holding teams accountable to results.
- Identify the KPIs that matter most, build reporting that surfaces key drivers and trends, and drive actions from those insights that create measurable value.
- Build, develop, and motivate a team of ~5 FP&A managers and analysts, growing deep subject-matter expertise across each business line while scaling the team's processes and tools as the business grows.
- Stay hands-on with the data yourself — using SQL to pull and structure your own analysis — so you can move fast and roll up your sleeves in the model, the data, or the deck whenever the business needs it.
What experiences will help you in this role:
- 8–10+ years in business, finance, or accounting, including 5+ years leading FP&A teams, ideally with a track record of building and scaling a team of 5 or more.
- Background in retail, ecommerce, or merchandise finance, giving you fluency in the dynamics of a fast-moving retail P&L.
- Experience supporting multiple business lines or P&Ls at once — such as retail/merchandise, marketing, and channel/BD — and knowing how to prioritize across competing needs.
- Strong SQL skills and a demonstrated ability to be self-sufficient with data, alongside advanced Excel and BI tool experience.
- A history of presenting to and influencing C-suite executives, paired with strong project management skills and a bias toward action in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
