The Laundry and Custodial staff will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a federally contracted ICE residential facility located in Alexandria, Louisiana. 

Laundry and Custodial Positions available 

• Part-time Weekend shifts:   7:00 AM--3:30 PM or 2:00 PM–10:30 PM 

Job Summary: 

The Laundry and Custodial Staff is responsible for providing efficient, hygienic, and timely laundry services for facility linens, bedding, towels, clothing, and other assigned materials. This position ensures that laundered items are cleaned, processed, stored, and distributed in accordance with organizational standards, infection control practices, and applicable health and safety requirements. The staff member plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment while supporting daily facility operations. 

This position also performs routine cleaning, housekeeping, sanitation, and general upkeep duties in compliance with applicable standards. 

Conditions of Employment:

• Employees must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident. 

• Employment contingent upon required screenings and clearances. 

• Compliance with federal security and operational protocols required. 

• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. 

• Must show proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required. 

• Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience. 

• Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment. 

• Knowledge of laundering techniques and sanitation practices and experience managing inventories. 

• Strong attention to detail and organization. 

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain records. 

• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. 

• Ability to obtain required clearances. 

• English communication skills required. 

• Experience in regulated environments and familiarity with infection control practices and PPE preferred 

Responsibilities and Scope:

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, bedding, towels, clothing, and other assigned items. 

• Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently. 

• Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, damage, and wear. 

• Maintain laundry equipment and report maintenance concerns. 

• Handle contaminated materials in accordance with safety procedures. 

• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize assigned areas. 

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors. 

• Empty trash and dispose of waste properly. 

• Restock restroom and facility supplies. 

• Launder and restock linens as assigned. 

• Maintain cleanliness of dining and food service areas. 

• Maintain adequate inventories of linens, towels, clothing, laundry supplies, and related materials. 

• Organize, store, and distribute clean items. 

• Maintain laundry areas in a clean and sanitary condition. 

• Complete required logs and records. 

• Participate in required training.
