About the role
About Runlayer
AI is transforming how every company operates, but most enterprises are stuck. They want to move fast with AI Agents, tools, and workflows, but they can't do it safely. We're fixing that.
Our team built AI Actions for OpenAI, shipped Zapier Agents to millions of users, and launched the first remote MCP server with Anthropic. We helped establish the protocol, and now we're building the platform enterprises need to actually put AI to work.
Runlayer is one platform for MCPs, Skills, and Agents: purpose-built security, fine-grained governance, and complete observability so organizations can go all-in on AI across the entire company without the risk. We just raised a $30M Series A led by Felicis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, bringing our total raised to $42M. Already trusted by Gusto, Instacart, Opendoor, dbt Labs, and Decagon.
About the Role
Runlayer is hiring its first GTM Systems Leader to scale the operating foundation for a fast growing marketing and revenue organization. You will own the systems, data, and workflows that move a lead from intake through routing, qualification, sales follow-up, pipeline, and closed-won—starting with HubSpot and the surrounding GTM stack.
This is a hands-on, systems-first role for someone who has built practical GTM infrastructure in an ambiguous, fast-growing environment. You will use strong systems design, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to make our go-to-market motion measurable, reliable, and scalable.
Why You’ll Thrive Here
Impact: You’ll own GTM systems end to end at a company doubling this year. Every number the board sees, every routing decision, every forecast flows through architecture you design.
Excellence: You'll govern the stack with Runlayer's own product — dogfooding the platform we sell — and define what an AI-native revenue engine looks like.
Ownership: The systems, the definitions, and the team are yours — you'll shape the roles, make the hires, and grow the function from scratch.
What You’ll Do
Own the GTM systems architecture strategy: Partner with GTM leaders to define and evolve the systems architecture strategy across Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Engineering.
Define Process: Codify the rules of engagement, lead routing, sourcing attribution, opportunity stages, SQL definitions, and forecast methodology. Turn tribal knowledge into a documented, enforced process.
Protect and elevate the data foundation: Ensure data is clean, enriched, and consistently mapped across systems. Use the Runlayer product to create the governance and security protocols needed to protect it and make it trustworthy enough to fuel AI models and decision-making.
Inform Our Biggest Decisions : Define the systems architecture strategy to support rapid growth and scaling of our GTM teams.
Team building. Manage and develop our planned team for our GTM Systems (Marketing Ops, GTM Engineering). You'll shape the roles, make the hires, and grow the function.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years experience in GTM Systems, Revenue Operations, Marketing Operations, Sales Operations, or Growth Operations working with fast paced companies
Hands-on experience deploying AI into GTM systems. You’ve built an AI-powered GTM stack that scales
Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
Deep comprehension of the business motions across Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success, and the judgment to know where technology and AI can move the needle for each
You've owned the full architecture across Marketing / Sales platforms (Nooks, Lemlist, Clay, Default, MixMax, Apollo, Hubspot)
An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcome
Bonus Qualifications
Experience at a developer-facing or API-first company, or selling to technical buyers
Experience building agentic workflows (multi-step AI systems, not just single prompts)
You've been the first GTM/growth engineering hire somewhere and built the function from scratch
