About Polymarket
Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized "house," Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future.
We're growing fast — both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire.
About the Role
Polymarket is registering a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) to support its derivatives business, and this role sits at the center of that effort. You will be the senior finance leader for the FCM entity, reporting to the FCM CEO and working closely with the governing body and Audit Committee. The mandate is straightforward: keep the FCM in good financial standing with the CFTC and NFA, protect customer funds, and give leadership an accurate, timely picture of the entity's financial condition at all times.
The finance function here is being built from the ground up, which means the person who takes this job will define how it operates. Segregation computations, net capital monitoring, Form 1-FR-FCM filings, and regulatory examinations are not areas where gaps are acceptable — we need someone who has done this before, takes it seriously, and can build the controls and reporting infrastructure that a new FCM requires. This is a hands-on role: you will be doing the work, not just overseeing it.
What You'll Do
Calculate and monitor adjusted net capital, risk-based capital requirements, regulatory haircuts, early-warning thresholds, and internal management buffers on a daily basis
Own the daily segregation and residual-interest computations, funds-on-deposit tracking, and undermargined customer reporting, ensuring the financial-control framework meets CFTC requirements at all times
Prepare and file monthly Form 1-FR-FCM reports via WinJammer, coordinate annual FCM audits, and serve as the primary finance contact for NFA and DSRO examinations
Manage the FCM's standalone monthly close, financial statements, accounting judgments, intercompany balances, allocations, and balance-sheet substantiation
Report regularly to the FCM CEO and Audit Committee on financial condition, capital adequacy, liquidity, customer-funds protection, and any emerging risks or control issues
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and the broader Polymarket finance team on entity-level matters, including intercompany arrangements and regulatory capital treatment
Build and maintain the policies, procedures, and internal controls that underpin the FCM's finance function, with an eye toward examination readiness at all times
What We're Looking For
10+ years of progressive finance, accounting, or regulatory reporting experience, with meaningful time spent inside a carrying FCM in a hands-on capacity
Direct experience preparing or reviewing daily segregation computations, residual-interest calculations, and monthly Form 1-FR-FCM filings — not just familiarity with the concepts
Working knowledge of CFTC financial requirements under Parts 1, 22, and 30, NFA financial requirements, and the WinJammer filing system
Experience managing or supporting NFA and DSRO examinations and annual FCM audits, including responding to examiner inquiries and remediating findings
Ability to own a full monthly close and produce standalone financial statements for a regulated entity, including intercompany reconciliation and balance-sheet substantiation
Clear, direct communication with senior leadership and governing bodies on capital, liquidity, and customer-funds topics, including the ability to flag problems early and explain them plainly
(Plus) Prior title as FCM Controller, Head of Regulatory Reporting, Regulatory Capital Director, Deputy CFO, or equivalent senior finance leader at a carrying FCM
(Plus) Experience standing up the finance function for a new FCM or supporting an FCM registration and readiness process from early stages through first examination
