About the role
ABOUT OVERVIEW.AI
Overview.ai is bringing the cutting edge of AI computer vision to manufacturing, solving inspection problems that were previously not solvable with traditional machine vision. We're a full-stack company: we deploy GPU-powered cameras on production lines, run inference on the edge, and operate a platform that supports large fleets of devices deployed across the world.
We're growing extremely fast. Our customers love the product because it works: high accuracy, fast deployment, and an operator-friendly experience that makes real factory rollouts possible, not just pilots.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a marketing leader who knows how to build a category and tell a story that engineers and operators actually believe. We have a product that wins on the factory floor; we need someone to build the narrative, the brand, and the industry presence that matches it. The best person for this role is fluent in the world of manufacturing and automation, credible with a technical audience, and just as comfortable shaping positioning as standing on a stage. This is a builder-leader role: senior enough to own the marketing P&L and build two teams while inheriting a couple headcount, hands-on enough to get into the detail of what our cameras actually do. You'll work directly with founders and report into the COO, sitting at the table where the company's trajectory gets decided.
WHY THIS ROLE IS EXCITING
Direct leadership & growth role: 18 month pathway to higher level positions for strong performers and a heavy mix of 0 -> 1 and 1 -> 100 with the opportunity to build your own team.
Own the category: AI computer vision for manufacturing is being defined right now. You'll shape how the market sees it.
A product that already wins: You're not manufacturing a story. You're telling a true one about a product deployed in real factories at scale.
Real ownership: You own the P&L, the brand, and two teams, with the autonomy to build the function the way it should be built.
Become the industry voice: You'll build Overview's presence across the automation world, through events, partnerships, and the kind of credibility that only comes from knowing the space cold.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Channel Creation and Ownership: Create an entire channel around the best possible events & channels themselves (i.e. machine builders) and develop a world-class marketing program to effectively reach and leverage those channels (ads, newsletters, events, etc.)
Product marketing: Lead the Product Marketing team; own messaging, launches, competitive positioning, and technical sales enablement.
Events and partnerships: Lead the Events and Partnerships team; own tradeshows, industry presence, and co-marketing relationships.
Industry presence and evangelism: Build Overview's voice in the manufacturing and automation community and represent the brand where the industry gathers.
Marketing P&L: Own the marketing budget and the outcomes it buys across your scope.
Technical fluency: Learn our camera and platform well enough to guide credible, technically accurate marketing.
Executive voice: Represent marketing at the leadership table and translate product capability into market strategy.
Brand and narrative: Own Overview's positioning, category story, and external presence end to end.
WHO YOU ARE
Required
Proven experience getting your hands dirty in marketing even with a recent track record of senior leadership experience (VP, Head of Marketing, or CMO), including owning a marketing P&L.
Track record leading and building marketing teams, including product marketing.
Manufacturing or industrial market experience: you understand how factories buy and what moves an industrial buyer.
Technical aptitude: you can learn a hardware-plus-AI product deeply enough to market it credibly, and you're comfortable in the technical detail.
Startup or scale-up experience: ideally having grown a company from Series B/C upward.
Strong Preferences
Industry-native credibility in manufacturing, automation, or industrial technology: known and trusted in the space, not new to it.
Machine vision, computer vision, or industrial automation background, with genuine technical fluency.
Strong public voice: a track record of category storytelling, evangelism, speaking, or building an audience in a technical market.
Experience owning events, partnerships, or community-building as a growth motion.
Built a category or led positioning for a technical product in an emerging market.
WHY OVERVIEW.AI
Extreme growth and real-world impact: We're not building demos. We're deploying AI systems on real production lines, at scale.
Talent density: You'll work with world-class engineers and operators across AI, embedded systems, and enterprise deployment.
Front-row seat to the AI manufacturing wave: One of the biggest transformations happening in industry right now.
Ownership: Your work directly changes the trajectory of the company.
Global exposure: You'll work with the most advanced customers and factories in the world.
