Founding Operations Engineer

Odin is building the investment infrastructure for the future of private markets.
We believe capital is one of the most powerful tools for shaping the world - and more people should know how to put it to work. Our mission is to make it radically easier to raise and deploy capital, so that anyone, anywhere, can back the companies and ideas they believe in.

Our first product is a full-stack platform for launching and running private investment firms, allowing you to run everything from your phone - think Shopify for VC and PE. We handle all the infrastructure: from legal structuring and investor onboarding to KYC/AML, payments, tax, reporting, and exits.

We're already trusted by over 10,000 angels, VCs, and founders. We administer over $750m in assets, covering investments from pre-seed to series E. This includes household names like ElevenLabs, OpenAI, SpaceX, xAI, Anduril, etc. but also new companies creating everything from synthetic brains to small nuclear reactors.

Why we're hiring

• We are automating a decades old part of the financial services industry. AI pilled operators like you are the beating heart of this plan, because LLMs & agents allow us to turn this services business entirely into software.

• We're post-PMF, fast-growing, and rolling out new products (fund admin) & geographies (USA). Customer & deal volume is climbing fast.

• Today we're on track for roughly 700 deals a year, with a team of ~20, and we’ll process $500m-$750m of investment in 2026 alone.

• The next goal is 7,000 deals a year and billions in annual investment flows.

• We believe this can be achieved with a team of around 50 people. But it will only be possible if we turn human-driven services workflows into software.

• The operational machine behind Odin is still held together in many places by people and spreadsheets. Your job is to come in, understand every process and system, simplify, streamline and automate the shit out of it.

• You’ll be part of a small elite team embedded in operations and working closely with existing team members to build agents that automate work.

• We expect the right hire to be spending more time in Claude Code than in Excel, email or anything else.

What you'll own

• Deal Execution
  Getting investments from idea to closed as fast as possible for the fund managers and deal sponsors who run their businesses on Odin.

• Automation
  You'll work alongside the deal operations team, with a standing instruction to automate their work. You'll bring product/design/engineering into the things that genuinely need significant engineering work, but you’ll mainly work autonomously without them. Before it gets to them you've already made the process as simple and fast as possible, and usually vibe coded something that works well but perhaps needs to be stabilised / scaled.

• Deleting things and saying no
  You decide what belongs in our processes and what doesn't. If a request from sales doesn't scale and isn't highly profitable we don't do it. If a way of working exists for no good reason, you kill it.

What we're looking for

• AI-pilled builder
  Clear evidence, at work or in your own time, that you've built concrete solutions to problems with no budget and no engineers. No-code tooling, scripts, spreadsheets, vibe-coded apps and more.

• Numerate
  Comfortable with financial mechanics, strong mental arithmetic. You’ll be working on automating a lot of numerical matters - carry, allocations, fee calculations, distributions, and the edge cases that make all of them interesting.

• In the details and extremely on top of things
  You understand every single aspect of our systems end to end. You close loops, you chase, you push hard to get things done.

• First principles thinker
  Although you're in the details and on top of execution, you also zoom out. You look at any process the way a good product manager looks at a product: What's the job? Why are we doing this at all? What's the smallest, simplest system that achieves the goal?
  A lot of what happens in fund admin is inherited convention, an industry "given", or a constraint of some third party. You should find it physically difficult to accept any of that.

• Big plus: regulated financial services background
  Fund administration, custody, payments, brokerage, audit, tax or another back office function. Useful, but not required. SQL, serious Excel and other experience piping data between systems are all worth having too. However, we care much more about the traits you have and things you can build than specific skills or experience on your CV. If you're a few years into your career and you've already automated the shit out of your last job or built something incredible with AI, we want to talk to you.

• You want to operate, not manage
  Odin is not a place for middle management. We all get shit done, regardless of title or seniority

How we work

There are five things we care about deeply:

1. Reason from the ground up
   Seek to understand what is true by always asking why. Do not trust convention or experts.

2. Speed begets speed
   We work fast. Speed compounds, it's the best form of defensibility, and it's energising to be around. If you work slowly, or tolerate slow work around you, you do not belong at Odin.

3. Take ownership
   Do not wait for permission to do things. Find the answer, force the thing into existence and hold others to an extremely high standard - the same standard you hold yourself to.

4. Brutal honesty
   If work doesn't meet the bar, people need to hear it, and the right people want to.

5. Truly excellent customer service
   Be a stickler for detail in every single interaction a customer has with us, and always strive to make this experience better, smoother, faster.

This role is probably not for you if

• You'd rather build product than operate. Product instinct is required in this role, but a product management career is not what this is;

• You prefer close management of your responsibilities;

• You are risk-averse;

• You want a 9-5;

• You take yourself too seriously;

• You care about working for a company that’s raised lots of money rather than one that's extremely capital efficient and focused on building a profitable giant that has a positive economic impact

Salary

£70k - £90k base, plus a meaningful equity grant.
We're flexible on the mix of cash and equity.

Hiring process

Three stages, usually inside two weeks, with detailed feedback within 24 hours of each one.

Location & ways of working

We're a London-based team. This role works closely with the founders, product and the wider ops team, and the speed we run at makes that much easier in-person. At least three days a week in the office.
