Senior Project Manager - Enterprise IT
Position Description
The Senior Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of large, complex, high-risk, and mission-critical enterprise technology and business-transformation projects. This position is responsible for managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, quality, and stakeholder expectations throughout the complete project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on project leader with experience managing multiple enterprise initiatives in a global manufacturing environment. This individual will coordinate cross-functional business and IT teams, manage vendors, oversee testing and change-management activities, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to established quality standards.
The Senior Project Manager will also contribute to the continued development and adoption of Project Management Office processes, methodologies, standards, procedures, and tools.
Responsibilities

Lead multiple large, complex, and enterprise-level technology and business-transformation projects.

Plan, direct, facilitate, and coordinate project activities and resources to achieve project objectives on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality.

Define and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, dependencies, risks, issues, and success criteria.

Identify and coordinate the business, IT, vendor, and technical resources required to build high-performing project teams.

Develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, task estimates, resource plans, milestone schedules, and dependency maps.

Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and ensure project activities remain aligned with organizational goals.

Facilitate and document project charters, business requirements, approvals, governance materials, and other project-specific documentation.

Coordinate project reviews and obtain required stakeholder and leadership approvals.

Develop the project-testing strategy and oversee integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and implementation readiness.

Identify, document, escalate, and manage project risks and issues through resolution.

Maintain project risk, issue, action, and decision logs.

Lead structured problem-solving efforts and drive creative solutions to project challenges.

Manage third-party vendors, procurement activities, proposals, and requests for proposals associated with assigned projects.

Develop and execute effective organizational and technical change-management plans.

Lead project-status meetings with business, IT, technical, and executive stakeholders.

Prepare and deliver clear project-status reports, financial updates, risk assessments, and executive presentations.

Track, manage, and forecast project financials to ensure costs are properly controlled and reported.

Capture lessons learned and maintain project documentation for use on future enterprise initiatives.

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMO standards, processes, procedures, templates, and tools.

Promote consistent adoption of established project-management methodologies across project teams.

Lead through influence and establish accountability among team members who may not report directly to the position.
Required Skills/Experience
-
Five to seven years of project management or related professional experience.
-
Progressive experience in project-management and leadership positions within a large or comparably complex organization.
-
Demonstrated success delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
-
Experience leading cross-functional business and IT teams using a formal project-management methodology.
-
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
-
Full software development lifecycle experience, including the successful delivery of multiple end-to-end technology projects.

Experience developing project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, estimates, dependencies, and status reports.
-
Experience managing project risks, issues, changes, testing activities, and implementation readiness.
-
Knowledge of project-management standards and practices established by the Project Management Institute.

Experience with project financial management, including budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.

Experience managing vendors, procurement activities, proposals, and requests for proposals.
-
Familiarity with organizational change-management principles and practices.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other relevant project-management and productivity applications.

Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, listening, and presentation skills.

Professional fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Preferred Skills/Experience

Project-management experience within a global manufacturing organization.

Experience managing global projects involving stakeholders across multiple countries, business units, or functional areas.

Experience with project-management platforms such as Clarity, Open Workbench, or comparable tools.

Experience with user acceptance testing, integration testing, and enterprise-system implementations.

Familiarity with business systems, manufacturing processes, and enterprise technology environments.

Experience establishing or improving PMO methodologies, governance standards, processes, and tools.

Working knowledge of the Skills Framework for the Information Age.

Fluency in a second language relevant to global project assignments.

PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP, or an equivalent project or program management certification.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, computer science, business, or a related discipline.

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
