About the role
About Us
Nidus is building autonomous manufacturing systems powered by AI and robotics. U.S. manufacturers are under growing pressure to increase output while navigating workforce constraints, underutilized equipment, and increasingly complex supply chains. We believe the next generation of manufacturing will be enabled by more intelligent, flexible automation—systems that help people and machines work together to expand capacity and improve productivity.
We're building the intelligence layer that makes that possible.
Our team comes from the intersection of defense technology and AI. We've built and shipped products to DoD customers, and we bring deep experience across ML, robotics, product development, and defense.
We're a small, in-person team in New York City working on hard problems that matter. If you want to build the future of American manufacturing, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
We’re looking for a generalist who's interested in working on our hardest business problems. You’ll work closely with the founders on some of the highest-leverage problems at Nidus—taking something that is initially messy and undefined, building the systems around it, and helping it scale.
Your first major focus will be recruiting. Building an exceptional team is one of the most important things we can do as a company, and we want someone who can help turn recruiting from something founder-driven into a world-class capability.
From there, the role can evolve in a number of directions. You might continue building recruiting into a function you lead, take on another area like data operations, or move onto an entirely new problem as the company grows. The goal is to give you meaningful problems to solve and the opportunity to build around the ones you find most interesting.
What You’ll Do
Take on high-priority business problems that don’t yet have an obvious owner or playbook.
Initially, spend a significant amount of your time building and improving our recruiting function.
Work on data operations as another major area of opportunity, including the systems and workflows behind collecting, organizing, and managing training data.
Depending on your interests and the needs of the company, continue leading what you build or move on to the next hard problem.
Who You Are
The Guy or Gal — People trust you to do things.
Strong opinions — You believe things should be done a certain way.
Low ego — You care more about solving the problem than about who gets credit.
High agency — You do things.
A strong generalist — You learn things fast.
Business-minded — You understand how individual projects connect to the broader goals of the company.
What We’re Looking For
Evidence that you’ve taken ambiguous problems and driven them through to execution.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
We care much more about how you think and operate than whether you’ve had a specific title before.
Nice to Have
Experience at an early-stage startup in any role, IB, or consulting
Experience in recruiting, talent, or people operations.
Exposure to AI, robotics, manufacturing, or other technical environments.
What Success Looks Like
In your first months, you’ve made recruiting meaningfully better and helped us scale data operations.
