Mission Integration Specialist
- Onsite
About the role
Who we are
Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.
As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We’re hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.
What you will be doing
Neros is looking for an Integration Specialist to join our growing Mission Integrations team. In this role, you'll build, modify, and field-test FPV drone platforms to prove out integrations with third-party hardware and software systems — working hands-on from initial feasibility through proof-of-concept, and engaging directly with external partners along the way.
- Build and modify multi-rotor FPV platforms across multiple sizes to support integration and testing needs
- Configure and troubleshoot Betaflight-based flight controllers, ELRS radio links, and related RF systems
- Perform hands-on hardware modification — soldering, wiring, prototyping mounts/brackets — to enable new integrations
- Assess technical feasibility of potential integrations and scope the engineering effort required
- Field test integration prototypes and support handoff to internal support and training teams
- Work directly with external partner companies on technical integration requirements
You should have the following
- 2-3+ years of hands-on experience in the FPV drone space
- Demonstrated experience building multiple FPV drones from scratch, across multiple sizes (including 8"+ platforms)
- Strong working knowledge of Betaflight configuration and tuning
- Comfort with light soldering, wiring, and physical prototyping (e.g., 3D-printed mounts/brackets)
- Strong working knowledge of ELRS, RF propagation, and spectrum management
- FPV Flight experience (Acro, non-stabilized)
- FAA Part 107 certification
- Comfortable engaging directly with external partners and customers, including in defense/military mission contexts
- Based in or willing to relocate to Torrance, CA; willing to travel for specific integration projects
Nice to Have
- Prior military experience or exposure to defense operations and TTPs is preferred
- ArduPilot experience
- Experience with contract or commissioned build work for external clients
