Sr. DevSecOps Engineer II (6826)
About the role
We know that you can't have great technology services without amazing people. At MetroStar, we are obsessed with our people and have led a two-decade legacy of building the best and brightest teams. Because we know our future relies on our deep understanding and relentless focus on our people, we live by our mission: A passion for our people. Value for our customers.
If you think you can see yourself delivering our mission and pursuing our goals with us, then check out the job description below!
What you’ll do:
- Design and build CI/CD pipelines from the ground up to support secure and repeatable software deployments within AWS environments.
- Develop automated workflows that allow new code and data to be incorporated into an existing application, containerized, validated, and transported from low-side to high-side environments.
- Containerize software and applications using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes and support orchestration of those workloads.
- Automate AWS infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Create deployment scripts, automation playbooks, and operational runbooks that make deployments repeatable and increasingly automated. Runbook development is an explicit deliverable for the work.
- Integrate security and compliance requirements directly into DevSecOps workflows, including STIGs, RMF/NIST controls, vulnerability scanning, compliance validation, secrets management, and other automated security checks.
- Help establish secure deployment patterns for software operating in restricted and mission-sensitive environments.
- Build and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting processes that support application and system health.
- Partner closely with software developers, cybersecurity engineers, infrastructure engineers, and customer stakeholders to troubleshoot deployments and improve automation.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 7+ years of experience in DevSecOps, Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and standing up CI/CD pipelines from scratch, not simply maintaining existing pipelines. Experience may include GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub/GitHub Actions, or comparable tooling.
- Strong experience containerizing software and applications, including hands-on use of Docker and Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration technologies. Candidates must have practical experience containerizing code and deploying containerized workloads.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS cloud environments, including familiarity with core native AWS services such as EC2 and S3 and the ability to navigate and engineer within AWS broadly.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps in a government, classified, restricted, regulated, or similarly controlled environment, with working knowledge of security and compliance requirements such as RMF, NIST 800-53, STIGs, vulnerability scanning, security controls, and hardened configurations.
- Strong scripting/development background using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages, with the ability to create deployment scripts, automation, playbooks, and repeatable operational runbooks.
- Demonstrated software development foundation.
