Systematic Trader

Role

Join our trading desk to support the reliable operation of systematic strategies across global equity and futures markets. You will monitor live trading, investigate anomalies, execute approved procedures, and use Python to improve trading analytics and operational workflows. We welcome recent graduates and candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience. Night shifts are required as part of our global market coverage. Training and supervised practice will be provided, with operational authority assigned according to demonstrated competence.   Key Responsibilities

1. Real-Time Monitoring: Monitor market data, orders, executions, positions and system health; investigate alerts and identify unexpected trading behaviour.
2. Trading Operations: Perform pre-market checks and shift handovers; support approved configuration changes, deployments and post-release checks.
3. Incident Response: Execute authorised SOPs, verify outcomes, and promptly escalate unresolved issues or situations outside assigned authority.
4. Analytics & Improvement: Use Python to analyse trading data, investigate recurring issues, and improve monitoring, tools and SOPs.
5. Compliance & Coordination: Follow execution controls and market rules; support broker communication and incident documentation.

 

Requirements

1. Background: Degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent demonstrated ability. Recent graduates and candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience are welcome.
2. Quantitative & Financial Foundations: Solid probability and statistics, with a good understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, positions, PnL and basic order mechanics.
3. Programming: Practical Python skills for data processing and analysis. Familiarity with Linux/UNIX and SQL is a plus.
4. Judgement & Discipline: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, reliable execution and sound judgement about when to escalate.
5. Communication: Clear written and spoken English for incident updates, handovers and collaboration.
6. Shift Availability: Willingness and ability to work scheduled night shifts.

Preferred: Experience or internships in systematic trading, electronic trading, trading operations or production support; familiarity with market microstructure, FIX or monitoring tools.
