Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d) Embedded Systems
About the role
THE ROLE
You want to combine Embedded Development and DevOps in a single role?
We are looking for a hands-on Development Engineer to take ownership of our electronic hardware production processes. As part of a cross-functional software development team, you will design, build and scale our functional & end-of-line test systems and the entire production environment that takes our IoT devices from prototype to production.
You shape and automate how our products are tested, flashed, calibrated and assembled.
Together with our EMS partners, you integrate our manufacturing requirements into their workflows and establish a robust and maintainable deployment & monitoring process — you keep those workflows reliable as the products evolve.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test Automation: Design and implement automated functional & end-of-line (EOL) tests in C++ and Python. Define test coverage and pass/fail criteria, and cover flashing & calibration of the devices.
- Environment: Automate deployment and monitoring workflows in Linux environments using Docker, Ansible and Grafana.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Perform root-cause analyses of production issues and evaluate test results.
- DFM (Design for Manufacturing): Feed findings back to our hardware and software engineering teams early, so we can improve manufacturability, testability, and assembly efficiency.
- EMS Integration: Integrate our production line into the EMS providers’ infrastructure and serve as the technical point of contact for EMS providers.
YOUR PROFILE
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a comparable field
- Solid programming skills in C++ and Python
- You feel at home in Linux environments and have hands-on experience with Docker, Ansible and Grafana
- Experience with embedded systems, electronics, and production or test setups (flashing, calibration, functional/EOL testing) is a plus
- You are highly self-motivated and enjoy taking ownership of your area of responsibility and driving it forward independently.
- Your technical expertise, combined with your open and communicative nature, allows you to take on a key role between hardware, software and EMS partners.
- Fluency in German and English is a must
- BONUS: Knowledge of electronics manufacturing (EMS), quality management or test automation
