About the role
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for leading product strategy, vision, and roadmap for GHX's core clinical solutions, which help health systems benchmark clinical and procedural spend, optimize product utilization, and support value analysis and physician preference item (PPI) decision-making. This individual will ensure products deliver measurable clinical and financial value to hospitals and health systems. This role requires strong domain expertise in healthcare, clinical analytics, and procedural/surgical supply chain data, along with proven ability to independently break down complex, ambiguous problems into clear milestones and drive them to completion. This role will be reporting to the Director, Product Management and will regularly engage with cross-functional leaders across engineering, clinical strategy, sales, and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical and clinical domain expert on our clinical suite of solutions while working directly with a variety of stakeholders, both to assist in closing deals and to ensure positive customer experience
- Independently break down large, ambiguous problems in the clinical analytics and physician preference item space into milestones and key initiatives, and hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable to target dates
- Work closely with internal operations to establish high quality implementation norms with a focus on accelerating time to value for customers
- Lead sales, product owners, and engineering team members to develop top-quality products by serving as a leader between customers/sales and engineering, even when problems are technically or clinically complex
- Conduct research, including engagement with clinicians, value analysis committees, and supply chain leaders, to identify customer needs and market gaps in category optimization and physician-level analytics
- Analyze the competitive landscape and market trends in healthcare clinical analytics and procurement optimization, then define and execute on strategies to be the market leader
- Define, drive, and communicate product roadmaps aligned with corporate strategy, cross-portfolio product pod delivery, and new and existing capabilities
- Partner closely with Product Pods and engineering delivery teams to prioritize work based on market demands and maximizing benefit to the business
- Lead the development of value propositions and sales tools to be used by the sales team
- Work closely with marketing and brand on external messaging and naming for the product
- Lead cross-functional rollout and go-to-market of products and new feature sets
- Train all customer-facing employees on product details, clinical value proposition, and sales techniques
- Work with sales and finance to accurately build business cases to forecast and monitor the success of products, and use these measures to drive product strategy
- Set and regularly evaluate product pricing using best-in-class pricing strategies
- Effectively negotiate for your product through any internal prioritization processes
- Ensure legal and regulatory requirements, including healthcare data privacy and security standards, are met, and any risks are mitigated through collaboration with legal
- Ability to travel 25-50%
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare, clinical analytics, and procedural/surgical supply chain data, with fluency in physician preference items, value analysis, and provider procurement processes
- Proven ability to independently break down complex, ambiguous problems into milestones, tasks, and target dates, and to assign and hold stakeholders accountable, following up as needed
- Superior stakeholder communication skills — proactively identifies and mitigates hurdles before they become issues, and effectively translates feedback bidirectionally between technical and clinical/business audiences
- Sound decision-making judgment, with the ability to weigh risk versus reward and drive stakeholder groups to a decision even amid disagreement
- Strong technical fluency — able to confidently discuss why a system or data model is architected the way it is and what it will take to evolve it
- Proven roadmap ownership, using data to drive prioritization and planning of future product iterations
- Superior cross-functional collaboration across customers, sales, marketing, operations, development, and suppliers
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to mentor and support the development of more junior product managers
Required Education, Certifications, and Experience
- Bachelor's or higher in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years related work experience, including 4+ years of product management experience.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare, clinical analytics, or hospital/health system procurement and supply chain required.
- Demonstrated experience developing data or analytics products that solve complex, ambiguous problems.
The compensation for this role is: $149,000 - $191,500
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
