Compensation: $105,000–$110,300 + Comprehensive Benefits

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to support a growing real estate development portfolio. This highly visible role partners closely with development teams, leadership, auditors, lenders, and contractors to oversee project accounting from construction through completion. You'll play a key role in job cost accounting, construction draws, financial reporting, and strengthening accounting processes and internal controls.
What You'll Do
- Manage job cost accounting and accounts payable for active development projects.
- Maintain general ledgers, prepare journal entries, and capitalize construction costs.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts across multiple project entities.
- Prepare and review project trial balances and financial reconciliations.
- Monitor project cash balances and support treasury activities.
- Coordinate construction draws, funding requests, and project disbursements.
- Lead year-end close activities and support external audits.
- Partner with auditors on cost certifications, compliance reporting, and required documentation.
- Review the work of Project Accountants and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
- Assist with developing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong construction accounting and job cost accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of the construction lifecycle and multi-entity project accounting.
- Experience with Yardi, MIP/Abila, or similar accounting software is preferred.
- Affordable housing or commercial real estate experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
