About the Role
We are seeking highly accomplished and strategic Data and AI Governance Lead to serve as the definitive authority for our enterprise data assets and artificial intelligence initiatives. In this high-impact role, you will define, implement, and oversee the corporate governance architecture that ensures our data ecosystems and advanced AI systems are secure, compliant, ethical, and high-performing.
You will act as primary bridge coordinating across legal, privacy, compliance, security, and IT enterprise teams, translating complex corporate risks into clear, operational policies. This role is not about creating barriers; it is about building the rigorous framework required to safely drive enterprise AI adoption and enablement across the entire organization.
What You’ll Do
- Direct the design, execution, and continuous operations of a centralized corporate AI Trust Center.
- Formulate and enforce organizational strategies for Responsible AI, establishing standards to systematically measure and mitigate algorithmic bias, hallucination, and intellectual property leakage.
- Build a formalized use case evaluation framework to assess, tier, and approve all inbound predictive and generative AI initiatives based on business value, technical readiness, and ethical risk profile.
- Establish comprehensive oversight procedures mapping the entire AI/ML lifecycle, spanning raw data extraction, model training, fine-tuning, automated testing, deployment, and ongoing production inference.
- Define and enforce holistic data governance strategies, operating policies, procedures, standards, and best practices to maintain corporate data integrity.
- Architect and deploy an enterprise-wide data classification framework to safely categorize internal, external and regulated information tiers.
- Oversee the automation of comprehensive data cataloging systems and end-to-end lineage mapping, ensuring full traceability from raw source systems to user-facing dashboards.
- Design and deploy modern frameworks for data quality, data monitoring, and observability to catch data anomalies or pipeline drift before they impact production downstream.
- Govern data access controls and compliance policies across all enterprise data platforms, and Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW).
- Serve as the functional governance owner for Databricks, leveraging Unity Catalog to enforce centralized access management, and auditable data shares.
- Set data and model consumption guardrails for foundational LLMs, and multi-agent Agentic AI systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to global risk and compliance frameworks and evolving AI legislation (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework).
- Function as an internal evangelist, training business users and engineering teams on how to leverage our governed data asset layer safely and efficiently.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a closely related quantitative/technical discipline.
- 12+ years of experience in data and AI governance, data management, or enterprise data compliance. Must show a progressive track record of managing enterprise-scale governance programs.
- Deep, practical knowledge governing data within Databricks environment, with hands-on experience utilizing Unity Catalog for lineage and access management.
- Clear conceptual and functional understanding of LLMs, Generative AI, Agentic AI, vector search mechanisms, and secure Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) structures.
- Deep familiarity with modern data privacy and AI regulations, with a proven ability to translate legal definitions into actionable, automated technical guardrails.
