We're seeking a Junior User Experience Designer to join our product team, developers, and designers in building our Data Science Platform, with a focus on dedicated Solutions for customers. This role requires skills in user research, experience design, usability, and interaction design. The Junior UX Designer will work closely with senior designers, Product, and Development teams based in Paris to understand business requirements, gather the best possible research, and help create and promote standard practices for our platform. You'll actively participate in all stages of product development, contributing to presentations of findings and recommendations for improvements.
The Dataiku Data Science Platform's ambition is to be the most ergonomic Data Science platform that addresses citizen data science needs to fully custom advanced analytics. At Dataiku, you will work with a unique team of Data Scientists, Developers, UX Designers, UX researchers, and Product Managers. As part of this group, you will have the chance to learn how to create tailored solutions for industries and businesses that are both friendly and powerful.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, execution, and analysis of concept validation studies with supervision
- Research consumer behaviors, expectations, and benchmark competitors
- Assist in preparing and delivering presentations of findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Translate design decisions and UX recommendations for feature concepts into wireframes and interactive prototypes
- Create and test user flows and low-fidelity prototypes
- Collaborate with engineers to understand technical constraints and overcome design challenges
- Contribute to the maintenance of our styleguide and our in-house design language
- Research and stay current with trends in UX and design
- Actively learn to understand the constraints and needs of various industries (e.g., finance, health, etc).
Qualifications
- Proficiency in design-related software (e.g., Figma, Miro, or similar).
- 0 to 2 years of relevant UX design experience.
- Understanding of user-centered design approaches and tools (including wireframes, journey maps, and user flows).
- Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide rationale for design decisions.
- Portfolio featuring student or professional examples of interaction design work.
Preferred qualifications:
- Degree (BS or MS) in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience integrating user feedback into design practices.
- Experience working collaboratively in a design team.
- Experience with professional software development environments.
- Curiosity for complex technical systems and data-driven products.
