About the role
Compass Surgical Partners is seeking a Materials Manager to lead supply chain and materials management at St. Francis Ambulatory Surgery Center. This role will oversee purchasing, inventory management, vendor coordination, and supply availability to ensure the center has the resources needed to support safe, efficient, high-quality surgical care.
Working closely with clinical teams, center leadership, physicians, vendors, and Compass partners, you’ll help establish effective supply chain processes from the ground up while balancing clinical needs, operational efficiency, and responsible cost management.

St. Francis Ambulatory Surgery Center is a new multi-specialty ASC located in Midlothian, Virginia. With two operating rooms and one procedure room, the center will provide high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care across orthopedics, ENT, spine, and podiatry.
Developed in partnership with Bon Secours Mercy Health and Compass Surgical Partners, St. Francis combines the strength of an established health system with Compass’s expertise in developing and managing high-performing ambulatory surgery centers.
Role Summary:
The Material Manager is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available to meet the needs of scheduled surgical procedures. This role manages purchasing, storage, and distribution of materials to support efficient, high-quality patient care.
Hours:
Monday–Friday schedule
No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
What You’ll Do:
Maintain accurate inventory levels to support daily surgical operations
Review surgery schedules to anticipate supply and equipment needs
Order, receive, and distribute supplies in accordance with facility policies in HST Pathways and Envi
Manage vendor relationships, review pricing, and coordinate special equipment requests
Ensure accuracy of purchase orders, invoices, and backorders
Support facility safety, infection control, and quality management programs
Maintain organized and secure storage areas
Participate in ongoing professional development and team initiatives
What You’ll Bring:
High school diploma or GED required; experience in materials management preferred
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and inventory management systems
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly

The expected base salary range for this position is $27–$33.50/hour
