As a Software Developer II, you take ownership of driving improvements to your team's Software Development Life Cycle and act as a subject-matter expert in your team's core stack. This is an AI-first role: you're expected to lead with AI-assisted and agentic tools as your default way of working — using them to accelerate delivery, explore solutions, and handle routine work — while maintaining strong engineering judgment and full accountability for everything that ships. You work primarily in our cloud platform, with some exposure to a legacy Windows desktop codebase that requires disciplined refactoring and security updates rather than net-new feature work.    📍 Location: This is a fully remote position located in Colombia.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality software solutions in your team's core stack and technologies. 

• Actively contribute to the enhancement of SDLC processes, ensuring best practices in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD). 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver on project objectives; conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. Use Jira and git appropriately and correctly registering versions, changes, and corrections. 

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues related to software development and deployment; perform bug fixes and deliver new functionality and enhancements from user stories 

• Act as a subject matter expert in your team's core stack and share knowledge to uplift the team's technical expertise. 

• Proactively identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone work — in builds, testing, deployment, or day-to-day development — and automate it using scripts, tooling, or agentic AI workflows. 

• Bring forward and prototype innovative ideas — new tools, techniques, or approaches — that measurably improve team velocity, code quality, or system reliability. 

• Participate in the on-call rotation, respond to operational issues, take initiative on appropriate fixes, and help resolve underlying root causes while keeping end-user impact in focus. 

• Design, build, and maintain services in our cloud platform. 

• Support secure-transport and credential-handling work (certificate validation, encryption) where it touches native components. 

• Contribute to architecture discussions for new back-end features. 

• Own testing and deployment of the features you build. 

AI-Augmented Development Expectations

• Proficiently use inline code-completion tools as part of your daily workflow. 

• Use conversational AI assistants for pair programming, design discussion, debugging, and documentation. 

• Critically evaluate all AI-generated output before committing — verify correctness, security, and alignment with team standards. 

• Identify routine or well-scoped tasks as candidates for agentic automation and propose workflow improvements to support this. 

• Build feedback loops — document what worked, what failed, and why — to improve future agent performance and team understanding. 

• Collaborate with your team to design and instrument AI-powered developer tooling; help measure its impact on velocity and quality. 

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). 

• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). 

• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio. 

• Experience with C++ or native Windows development. 

Tech Stack

• Languages & Frameworks: Java 25, SpringBoot, Spring Cloud Gateway 

• Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (S3, Secrets Manager, Lambda, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, EKS, etc.), CloudFormation, Terraform 

• Data: MongoDB, PostgreSQL 

• Testing & Observability: JUnit, New Relic 

• Tooling: Jira, IntelliJ IDEA, GitHub 

• Occasional exposure to native Windows development (C++, Visual Studio/MSBuild) for legacy maintenance. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

• 5+ years of professional experience, primarily in cloud/back-end development (Java/SpringBoot or similar); exposure to C++ or native Windows development is a plus, not a requirement. 

• Strong understanding of the SDLC and experience improving SDLC processes. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. 

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across a team. 

• 5+ years of experience with Java/SpringBoot and building production services. 

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). 

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases. 

• English High B2 or C1.
