Job Summary
The Data Analyst will take their advanced understanding of analytics and data modeling and apply it to various aspects of the business, primarily focused within the Digital department. Reporting to the Director of Consumer Analytics, the qualified candidate will be working with data that touches the entire company's ecosystem. An ongoing piece of work will be improving the data integrity, functionality, and strategy across a number of proprietary AEG products that focus on marketing, booking, accounting, and more. Besides building out the structures of various datasets and making our database more relational, this person will be tasked to analytically derive key insights that provide tangible value to our marketing capabilities. Essential Functions
- Oversee and look for improvements within current data models and consolidation efforts.
- Set up processes for monitoring, tracking, and trending department data.
- Build marketing-focused analytical reports across various Business Units that enable targeted experiences based on personal preferences, monetary spend capabilities, and other consumer characteristics.
- Work with marketing teams, including Email and Paid Media, to create specific segmented affinity audiences.
- Work with internal, external, and enterprise clients as needed to research, develop, and document new standard reports and processes.
- Build out Data Warehouse capabilities through indexing current datasets and bringing in new datasets.
- Extract and compile various sources of information and large datasets from multiple systems to identify and analyze outliers.
- Proactively perform data exploration on user behavior, segmentation, cohort analysis, and conversion funnels.
- Implement and use analytics software and systems to support department and company goals related to the marketing of live events.
- Design and execute financial and operational analysis by leveraging in-house and 3rd party operational, transactional, and financial data, and use visualization tools to develop business performance reports for AEG Presents management across multiple departments (e.g., festivals, venues, touring).
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year)
- 2-4 years of related work experience
- Strong quantitative analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from large data sets, exceptional attention to detail, and a desire to creatively solve challenging problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings from technical analysis to non-technical audiences
- General business acumen, with the ability to analyze the live events industry and recommend business improvements
- Ability to learn quickly and manage projects independently
- Proficiency in data science programming languages (Python and/or R)
- Proficiency in SQL, experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Power BI)
- Music or other entertainment experience a plus, as well as a passion for music and knowledge of artists and industry trends preferred
- Familiarity with basic financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet) preferred
Payscale: $82,924.00 - $109,785.00
Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
