Matt created two iPad apps that won Apple’s App of the Year. ## About the role #### About Trigger.dev [Trigger.dev](http://Trigger.dev) is an open source platform used by developers to build production-grade AI agents. It's an SDK and the infrastructure to run agents reliably at scale, so teams can focus on the product instead of the plumbing. Our Cloud product is a managed service where we deploy our users' code and auto-scale from zero to millions of executions. With the rise of AI, being able to offload async tasks reliably is a key part of any developer's toolkit - we're building the infrastructure to make that a reality. #### About the position We're a small team shipping fast, and as we accelerate building new features and expand the team, we want to make sure the quality and polish of what we ship keeps pace. That's where you come in. We're looking for a Design Engineer to help raise the bar on UX and visual quality across our product and marketing surfaces. You'll blend design sensibility with real engineering ability, and be able to take a rough idea, a Figma file, or even just a problem statement, and turn it into a well-crafted, production-quality experience yourself, without needing a traditional design-to-dev handoff. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who cares as much about how something feels to use as they do about how it's built. **What you'll be doing** You'll do a variety of things including: - Designing and building high-quality, polished UI across our web app and marketing site - You'll work closely with the rest of the engineering team to build new features with a focus on design craft and great UX. - Owning design decisions end-to-end: from rough concept through to shipped, production code - Building and evolving our design system and component library so quality scales as the product grows - Improving accessibility, responsiveness, and interaction polish across existing product surfaces - Prototyping new ideas quickly in code as well as static mockups, so we can iterate fast - Helping instil a stronger design/UX sensibility across the wider engineering team #### Requirements You really need to have: - A strong portfolio showing both design quality and the ability to ship real, production UI yourself - Expertise in modern frontend engineering - React and TypeScript (we use Remix) - A sharp eye for visual and interaction detail - typography, spacing, motion, and the small things that make software high quality - Comfort working directly from a problem statement rather than a fully-specced design - you can drive design decisions yourself - If you are remote you must be within CET to ET timezones (GMT+1:00 to GMT-5:00).
