## About the role

The Events & External Associate supports the VP Events & External in the planning and execution of events, external outreach, and stakeholder communications. The Associate will help ensure events and sessions run smoothly while supporting relationships with mentors, participants, alumni, and external partners.

##### Time Commitment

**2–3 hours/week** from September 2026 – December 2026 | **4–8 hours/week** from Jan 2027 – April 2027

##### Main Responsibilities

- Support the VP Events & External in planning, coordinating, and executing CJD events and sessions

- Assist with event logistics, including scheduling, preparation, communications, and day-of execution

- Conduct outreach to prospective mentors, delegates, alumni, and other external stakeholders through LinkedIn, email, and other channels

- Maintain organized records of outreach, contacts, event details, and follow-ups

- Support communication with program mentors and participants to ensure they receive timely and accurate information

- Research potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities with clubs, services, and external organizations

- Assist with developing new event ideas and initiatives that enhance the participant experience and support CJD’s growth

##### Qualifications

- Previous experience in event planning, outreach, relationship management, or student organizations is an asset

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines

- Comfortable conducting outreach and communicating professionally with students and industry professionals

- Proactive, collaborative, and willing to take initiative

- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to Casing Junior Development and its success

##### Anticipated Learning Outcomes

The Events & External Associate will gain hands-on experience in event planning, professional outreach, and stakeholder management while working closely with the VP Events & External. The Associate will have opportunities to develop skills in: event coordination and execution; professional communication and external outreach; relationship-building with industry professionals and stakeholders; working effectively in fast-paced event environments; collaboration and teamwork; and developing and implementing event ideas
