## About Talkiatry

Finally, an online psychiatrist who takes your insurance. Get expert care for ADHD, anxiety, and more from the comfort of home.

## About the role

#### Talkiatry is seeking a Lead Therapist to join our team of licensed providers as we grow our footprint across country.

Talkiatry’s mission is to transform psychiatry with accessible, human, and responsible care. We’re a national mental health practice co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist to solve the problems both groups face in accessing and providing the highest quality treatment. 60% of adults in the U.S. with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated every year because care is inaccessible, while 45% of clinicians are out of network with insurers because reimbursement rates are low and paperwork is unduly burdensome. With innovative technology and a human-centered philosophy, we provide patients with the care they need—and allow clinicians to focus on why they got into the mental health field.

As Lead Therapist, you will provide clinical leadership for a team of therapists, serving as their primary people manager and clinical coach. Working in a dyad with your General Manager and in partnership with the National Director of Psychotherapy and Chief Clinical Officer, you will maintain and elevate the quality of care the team provides—supporting therapist development, performance, onboarding, and engagement, and contributing to clinical committees, initiatives, and work groups.

Time in this role is split between clinical leadership responsibilities and a reduced caseload for direct patient care, so you can continue practicing while helping shape the quality, development, and performance of your team.

#### In this role, you will:

- Serve as the primary people manager and clinical leader for a cohort of therapists—providing ongoing 1:1 coaching, feedback, goal setting, and professional development while cultivating a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

- Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to drive the development, growth, and performance of the therapy department, ensuring alignment on priorities, performance outcomes, and escalations.

- Connect your team to Talkiatry’s clinical and educational priorities, translating practice strategy and performance into clear, actionable guidance for therapists.

- Lead department and company-wide initiatives that drive continuous quality improvement, department growth, and sustainability.

- Actively participate in therapist recruitment and hiring, including interviewing candidates and providing hiring recommendations to support organizational growth.

- Work with Care Integrity to proactively address patient concerns and complaints.

- Meet individually with new therapists to assess progress, provide mentorship, and ensure personal development goals are on track.

- Build strong partnership with Clinical Operations and other cross-functional departments to ensure all operational decisions impacting our providers are made through a clinical lens to meet patient and provider needs.

- In partnership with Operations, actively mentor your direct reports, including advising on utilization, schedule optimization, incentive compensation earnings, and all clinical policies.

- Manage the full performance lifecycle—coaching, development planning, periodic performance reviews, and formal performance management actions—in collaboration with your HRBP.

- Serve as a clinical resource, providing consultation on treatment planning, level of care decisions, complex cases, and other clinical questions.

- Ensure clinical quality and compliance through documentation review, chart audits, and coaching on standards of care. Proactively study quality data and sponsor quality initiatives to ensure Talkiatry is delivering the highest standard of care.

- Support clinical and safety escalations by providing consultation, guidance, and follow-up coordination as needed.

- Empower clinical focus to drive better patient outcomes and higher clinician career satisfaction, based on our unique clinical informatics that provide insight into practice patterns you can use to improve care.

- Lead therapist engagement and retention through proactive support, early intervention, and ongoing connection to the team and organizational goals—including department meetings and clinically-focused discussions.

- Continuously adapt your leadership responsibilities in an evolving, fast-paced, and growing practice.

- A minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience

- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive management experience in mental health

- Demonstrated 2+ years experience in leadership roles supporting large teams

- Active, independent licenses as a clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist or counselor in at least 2 western states, with the ability to get licensed in additional states

- Occasional travel required as needed.

#### The ideal candidate also has:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
