## About the role

#### Company Overview

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

**Position Summary**

The Services Manager/Engineer - Mechanical is the client-side technical and delivery lead for mechanical and hydraulic services on hyperscale and mission-critical data-centre projects. The role provides senior leadership from concept and design through procurement, manufacture, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring the cooling and hydraulic infrastructure achieves the required capacity, resilience, maintainability, energy performance and programme outcomes.

The position requires proven data-centre experience and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, engage credibly with designers, contractors and OEMs, and make sound technical and commercial decisions. A core focus is the integration of air-cooled chiller systems, liquid-cooled racks, hydraulic services and associated heat-rejection, distribution, controls and monitoring infrastructure, including phased deployment in live or operationally sensitive environments.

The role also leads the client interface for modular and off-site construction, including prefabricated plantrooms, skids, containerised systems and factory-tested assemblies. It establishes the assurance regime from factory acceptance through site integration and integrated systems testing.

###

**Key Responsibilities **

**Services leadership and client representation**

- Lead the mechanical-services workstream on behalf of the client, setting technical priorities, delivery expectations, reporting and assurance activities.

- Coordinate designers, principal contractors, specialist mechanical contractors, OEMs, commissioning providers and internal delivery, operations and commercial teams.

- Provide clear advice on technical risk, programme, cost, constructability, resilience and operational impacts; escalate material issues with practical recommendations.

- Promote a safety-first culture across design, factory and site activities, including safe commissioning and transition to operations.
**Technical leadership and design assurance**

- Assist reviews of basis of design, drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment selections and design changes for critical cooling and hydraulic systems.

- Provide technical assurance for air-cooled chiller systems, chilled-water distribution, pumps, heat exchangers, CRAH/CRAC equipment, ventilation, water treatment, hydraulic services, in-ground services, drainage, leak detection and BMS/DCIM interfaces.

- Manage the coordination and delivery assurance of in-ground hydraulic services, including site water, fire-water interfaces, sanitary drainage, trade waste where applicable, stormwater interfaces, pits, pipework routes and connections to building systems.

- Lead the mechanical integration strategy for liquid-cooled racks, including CDU architecture, secondary-loop distribution, water quality, containment, leak detection, controls, redundancy, maintainability and staged capacity deployment.

- Review BMS architecture, points lists, control narratives, sequences of operation, alarms, trending and integration with electrical, fire, security and DCIM systems.

- Contribute to design workshops, constructability reviews, HAZOP-style risk reviews, failure-mode assessments, value engineering and operational-readiness reviews.
**Procurement, commercial and programme support**

- Lead technical evaluation of mechanical and controls tender submissions, identifying scope gaps, qualifications, programme risks and departures from requirements.

- Support procurement and commercial teams with technical clarifications, vendor assessments, equipment lead-time strategies and package award recommendations.

- Review progress against design, manufacture, delivery and installation milestones; intervene early where recovery actions are required.Modular and off-site delivery

- Lead the client-side approach to modular construction for mechanical infrastructure, including prefabricated plantrooms, skids, pipe-rack modules and factory-integrated controls systems.

- Review modular design interfaces, logistics, lifting and installation methodology, tolerances, access, maintainability, in-ground services interfaces and site tie-in strategies.

- Plan and witness factory acceptance tests, pre-functional checks and controls integration testing, ensuring documented close-out before shipment and site energisation.

- Ensure modular systems are properly integrated with on-site services, controls, structural, electrical and commissioning interfaces.
**Construction, commissioning and handover**

- Review contractor methodologies, inspection and test plans, quality records, commissioning plans and completion documentation.

- Undertake site inspections and witness hold points, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing and reliability demonstrations.

- Verify that defects, outstanding works, control issues and documentation gaps are closed before handover.

- Support operational-readiness activities, including training, spares, maintenance information, asset data and as-built records.
**Essential experience **

- 10+ years of relevant mechanical and hydraulic services delivery experience, including a services management, engineering management or client-side leadership role.

- Demonstrated experience delivering data centres, mission-critical facilities or similarly resilient high-availability infrastructure.

- Strong practical and technical understanding of air-cooled chiller plants, associated chilled-water systems, hydraulic services and in-ground services, controls and commissioning.

- Demonstrated understanding of liquid cooling for data-centre racks, including CDUs, distribution systems, heat rejection, controls, leak management and operational interfaces.

- Proven experience with modular or off-site construction methodologies, including factory acceptance testing and site integration.

- Ability to lead design reviews, resolve complex services interfaces and assess technical, programme and commercial risk.

- Strong knowledge of BMS and controls integration, sequences of operation and commissioning requirements for critical environments.

- Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.**Qualifications**

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline; trade-qualified HVAC/mechanical background with substantial senior delivery experience will also be considered.

- Relevant Australian professional registration, chartership or industry memberships are advantageous.Current construction-induction card and the ability to work on an active construction site.

###

**Desirable Experience **

- Hyperscale data-centre experience and familiarity with phased build, live-site works and concurrent commissioning activities.

- Experience with data-centre cooling standards, reliability frameworks and operational handover requirements.

- Experience working with major chiller, cooling, controls and liquid-cooling OEMs.

- Experience in integrated systems testing, seasonal testing and performance verification.**Equal Opportunity Employer**
