- A customer-focused scientific advisor who enjoys understanding research goals, scientific context and practical constraints

- An excellent communicator and presenter who can build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders in Japanese pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations

- A collaborative partner who enjoys working with other departments to advance customer success and long-term adoption

- A proactive problem solver who can translate complex scientific questions into practical workflows, identify opportunities, and help customers make informed decisions

**What you’ll do:**

- Build trusted relationships with existing and prospective pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers, serving as a scientific advisor, providing guidance on computational drug-discovery approaches and the effective use of our software

- Understand customers’ research objectives, scientific context, and workflow constraints; propose relevant, scientifically sound solutions and provide best practices

- Deliver tailored scientific presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and trainings for existing and prospective customers

- Lead or contribute to scientific discussions, troubleshooting, workflow development, and evaluations involving our platform

- Partner with Account Managers on strategic accounts by providing scientific input to account plans, customer meetings, and evaluation or adoption strategies

- Contribute to scientific collaborations, research services, publications, and conference presentations

- Take ownership of a defined scientific, customer, or project area, and contribute to team capability through sharing and mentoring

- Work from the Tokyo office, with hybrid work flexibility, when not traveling for company business

**What you should have:**

- PhD in computational chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, pharmaceutical sciences, or related drug-discovery field

- A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process

- Practical experience in one or more relevant computational drug-discovery approaches

- Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and credibly to scientific audiences

- Fluency in Japanese language and business-level English language skills (both verbal and written)

- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across local and global teams

- Strong presentation, facilitation, listening and problem solving skills

- Willingness to travel within Japan and internationally required

**It's a plus if you have:**

- Experience in one of the following: molecular dynamics simulations, free energy calculation methods, ligand-based drug design, chemoinformatics, quantum mechanics, virtual screening and/or structural modeling at the pharmaceutical industry

- Post-doctoral research and/or relevant experience in the commercial or academic sector

**Pay and Perks:**

Schrödinger understands that it’s people that make a company great. Because of this, we’re prepared to offer a competitive salary, bonus plan, and benefits, which includes mutual-aid retirement plans, over three weeks of paid vacation time, numerous company holidays, a parental leave program, and healthcare through our partnership with the Japanese Health Insurance Association, and professional development opportunities including trainings and continuous education support.

**Why Schrödinger:**

You will join a global scientific organization developing and applying advanced computational technologies to improve human health and quality of life. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading life-science organizations in Japan, contribute to important scientific challenges, collaborate with international experts, and shape the adoption of next-generation computational methods in drug discovery.
