## About the role

***This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.***

The **Senior Full Stack AI Engineer** will take ownership of an advanced internal CRM and continue building the systems that support the company’s sales organization.

The immediate focus will be completing and stabilizing the existing CRM, which already includes calling, texting, real-time functionality, and AI-enabled features. The **Senior Full Stack AI Engineer** will audit the existing codebase, identify remaining work, address gaps and risks, and bring the platform to a reliable, production-ready state.

This is a hands-on full-stack engineering role, not a no-code automation position. The engineer must be able to independently work within an existing codebase, make technical decisions, and own work from start to finish.

**Fully Remote | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST**

#### Key Responsibilities

##### CRM Ownership & Development

- Take ownership of the existing internal CRM across the Node.js and Express backend and React frontend.

- Audit the existing codebase to identify gaps, bugs, technical debt, security risks, and incomplete functionality.

- Build a clear plan for completing and stabilizing the CRM after reviewing the existing architecture.

- Develop, test, and maintain features across lead management, communications, agent workflows, reporting, and administrative tools.

- Debug and resolve issues affecting live applications.

##### AI Implementation

- Maintain and improve AI functionality using OpenAI and Anthropic APIs.

- Work within the existing agentic tool gateway, including tool permissions, policy controls, and safety restrictions.

- Support future AI implementation projects as the business evolves.

##### Real-Time Communications

- Maintain real-time functionality powered by Redis, [Socket.IO](http://Socket.IO), and Twilio Voice.

- Support the communications functionality built into the CRM, including calling and texting.

##### Security & Data Protection

- Protect customer and agent data through strong authentication, authorization, validation, logging, and tenant-isolation practices.

- Maintain and improve the security and reliability of the platform.

##### Infrastructure & Deployment

- Manage deployments and infrastructure across Render, Cloudflare, AWS S3, MongoDB Atlas, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.

- Maintain and improve CI/CD and production deployment processes.

- Support a stable release process for the CRM.

##### Internal Systems Development

- Work directly with the founder and operations manager to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Build the next internal systems, including a licensing and onboarding platform to replace the current GoHighLevel process.

- Support additional internal systems and operational technology projects as the business evolves.

#### Qualifications

##### Experience

- Senior-level full-stack software engineering experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js, Express, React, and MongoDB.

- Experience taking over, auditing, and improving an existing production codebase.

- Experience building and maintaining secure, multi-tenant applications.

- Hands-on experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable LLM APIs into production products.

- Experience with GitHub, CI/CD, production deployments, and debugging live applications.

- Experience with Twilio Voice, browser-based calling, or programmable communications is a plus.

- Experience building CRMs, sales platforms, onboarding tools, learning platforms, or internal operations systems is a plus.

- Experience with TCPA-sensitive communications, call recording, auditability, or regulated-industry workflows is a plus.

- Experience moving workflows from GoHighLevel or similar tools into custom software is a plus.

- Experience reviewing and improving AI-assisted code is a plus.

##### Skills

- Strong proficiency with Node.js, Express, React, and MongoDB.

- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, data privacy, validation, and testing.

- Ability to independently audit an existing codebase and determine the work required to stabilize and complete it.

- Ability to make technical decisions without day-to-day engineering oversight.

- Ability to own technical work from start to finish.

- Experience working with real-time technologies including Redis and [Socket.IO](http://Socket.IO).

- Experience managing production deployments and infrastructure.

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining security and reliability.

#### What Success Looks Like

##### First 30 Days

- Become fully familiar with the existing CRM, codebase, infrastructure, and business workflows.

- Complete a technical audit of the existing platform.

- Identify the highest-priority risks and remaining work.

- Resolve immediate issues.

- Create a clear plan for completing the platform.

##### By 60 Days

- Complete or actively deliver the highest-priority CRM functionality against a clear plan.

- Improve the reliability of core workflows.

- Strengthen gaps in testing, security, documentation, monitoring, or deployment processes.

##### By 90 Days

- Operate as the primary technical owner of the CRM.

- Establish a stable release process and clear roadmap for future development.

- Be positioned to begin supporting the internal licensing and onboarding system.

- Begin supporting additional AI implementation projects across the business.
