We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines. ##### What you'll be doing - Develop core features of the Roku OS Application framework. - Work closely with Product Development, UI Design, Platform Services, and Release Management teams to contribute to our application development. - Ensure that programs and applications continue to function normally through software maintenance and testing. - Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues within the Roku platform. - Responsible for programming using C++ and embedded Linux. - Analyze user needs and design and develop software to meet needs, and recommend software upgrades for customer existing programs. - Architect and implement services that support Roku applications, and will build services at scale. ##### You are required to have - Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. - 5 years of progressive experience in the position, as a Senior Software Engineer, or a related occupation. - Will also accept Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience in the position, as a Senior Software Engineer, or related occupation. Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following: 1. Programming experience with C++ and embedded Linux. 2. Linux tools, frameworks, and libraries. 3. API design considerations and tradeoffs. 4. Script languages such as Python, JavaScript or derivatives. 5. Writing functional and integration tests. 6. Object oriented software design. Up to one day per week telecommuting may be permitted. For California Only - The annual salary for this position is $306,000 - $382,000. Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
