# Quality Control Inspector (Second Shift)

## About the role

As a** QC Inspector** at Rocket EMS, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our high-reliability PCB assemblies adhere to the strictest quality standards. Your responsibilities will include conducting first article inspections, performing in-process audits, and monitoring production quality along the SMT line. This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of IPC standards, and the decisiveness to halt production when quality is jeopardized.

##### Responsibilities

- Review job documentation (MPI, Deviations, ECOs, and Customer Requirements) prior to inspection.

- Conduct SMT First Article Inspections and verify compliance with IPC-A-610 (Class 2 and 3) and customer standards.

- Monitor throughput and quality on assigned lines; halt production if significant defects are identified and escalate issues promptly.

- Provide daily quality pass-down reports and keep leads/supervisors informed about inspection outcomes.

- Initiate and review Technical Inquiries for discrepancies; ensure no jobs commence without proper authorization.

- Assist in addressing bottleneck areas as directed by Supervisor, Engineer, or Manager.

- Escalate unresolved issues to the Quality Manager.

- Adhere to and enforce all procedures related to ESD, MSD handling, housekeeping, maintenance, safety, and inspection protocols.

- Propose and support continuous process and quality improvements.

##### Qualifications

**Education**

- High school diploma or equivalent (required).

**Experience**

- Minimum of 2 years in an electronics inspection role within a contract manufacturing or similar environment.

- IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification (required).

**Skills**

- Strong understanding of IPC workmanship standards (Class 2 and 3).

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and BOMs.

- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

- Detail-oriented with the capability to accurately identify and classify defects.

##### Schedule

- 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday

- Overtime and weekends as needed

Pay Range$20—$25 USD**ITAR/EAR Compliance:** Due to the nature of the work performed at Rocket EMS, this position may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology. The successful candidate must be eligible to access such information under applicable U.S. export-control laws or be eligible for any required government authorization.
