## About the role

RIVR, part of Amazon is a robotics company pioneering Physical AI through real-world doorstep delivery. Founded in 2024 as an ETH Zurich spin-off, RIVR developed wheeled-legged robots designed to operate in complex, unstructured environments such as stairs, gates, doors, and uneven urban terrain. We believe that achieving general physical intelligence requires solving real customer problems in the real world, where robots can learn from rich operational data at scale.

Following our acquisition by Amazon in March 2026, we are continuing this mission with greater reach and speed. By combining custom robot hardware, onboard autonomy, and cloud-based coordination, RIVR, part of Amazon is building the next generation of safe, reliable autonomous robots for last-mile delivery.

**Job Description**

- We are seeking a detail-oriented,and technically skilled engineer for our robot products. This role is primarily responsible for software flashing, functional self-testing, problem diagnosis, documentation, and rework of non-conforming units. Meanwhile, you’re also needed for our Shanghai office’s inventory and tools management.

##### What you’ll be doing

- Robot Setup & Flashing: Perform flashing, burning, and installation of OS, firmware, and software on end-of-line devices in strict adherence to Work Instructions (WI).

- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Identify software failures, hardware alerts, and anomalies. Utilize log tools and serial terminal debug tools to perform root-cause analysis, log fault details, and submit problem reports.

- Robot EoL Testing: Strictly execute EoL test procedures, inspect for mechanical/functional failures, upload data to the cloud, and compile test reports.

- Rework & Collaboration: Execute rework on software-related defects (re-flashing, setting restorations, configuration tweaks) and collaborate with HW/SW engineering teams on complex diagnostics.

##### What you must have

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

- Technical Skills:

Familiar with Ubuntu OS and comfortable running commands in a ROS2 environment.

- Ability to recognize basic English technical terms and read software log information.

- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in testing, repair, or software flashing within an electronics manufacturing environment (e.g., service robotics, robotic arms, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, or telecommunications equipment).

- Soft Skills:

Strong sense of responsibility and meticulous attention to detail.

- Good logical analysis, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
