##### Structural Steel QC Inspector – Richmond, VA

**Job Type:** Contract-to-Hire
**Location:** Richmond, VA
**Shift:** 1st Shift
**Starting Pay:** $31/hour — higher depending on experience

##### Position Overview

We are hiring a **Structural Steel QC Inspector** to support quality control activities in a structural steel fabrication facility. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters and fabricators with strong quality and inspection knowledge may also be considered.

##### Key Responsibilities

- Inspect structural steel components throughout the fabrication process.

- Conduct daily quality checks on completed and in-process work.

- Compare materials and fabricated components against shop drawings and project specifications.

- Perform dimensional layout inspections and verify proper part placement.

- Identify, document, and follow up on nonconforming work in accordance with AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 requirements.

- Perform both in-process and final inspections.

- Work directly with production personnel to identify quality concerns and determine appropriate corrections.

- Assist with quality improvement efforts and initiatives.

- Support preparation for and participation in annual AISC QC audits.

- Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation.

##### Qualifications

- 3–5 years of experience in structural steel layout and fabrication

- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and construction drawings

- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and quality standards

- Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred

- Senior-level structural steel fitting or fabrication experience may be considered in place of direct QC experience when accompanied by strong quality knowledge

##### Schedule

- Monday–Friday

- 1st Shift

- Saturday overtime available
