##### Structural Steel Fitter/Welder – York, PA

**Location:** York, PA
**Job Type:** Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
**Pay:** Up to $25/hour, depending on experience
**2nd Shift Differential:** +$3/hour

##### Openings

- Structural Steel Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening

- Structural Steel Fitter – 2nd Shift: 2 openings

- Structural Steel Welder/Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening

##### Position Summary

Hiring experienced structural steel fabricators for a contract-to-hire opportunity. Depending on experience, work may focus on steel fitting or combine fitting with **Flux Core welding**. Candidates will use drawings and measurements to lay out, position, fit, and assemble structural steel components.

##### Responsibilities

- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.

- Measure, mark, and lay out structural steel for fabrication.

- Position and align steel members for accurate fit-up.

- Fit and assemble components prior to welding.

- Perform Flux Core welding for Welder/Fitter assignments.

- Set up and operate a track torch.

- Properly use and maintain welding and fabrication equipment and tools.

- Inspect measurements, alignment, fit-up, and finished work for accuracy.

- Coordinate with supervisors and coworkers to meet production schedules.

- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.

- Follow required safety and workplace procedures.

##### Requirements

- 3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.

- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.

- Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.

- Knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.

- Ability to set up and operate a track torch.

- Ability to perform Flux Core welding and successfully complete a pre-employment welding test.

- Strong attention to detail and accurate workmanship.

- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Commitment to safe work practices.

- AWS or other recognized welding certification preferred.
