##### Structural Steel Fabrication Superintendent – Gallaway, TN

**Location:** Gallaway, TN
**Job Type:** Direct Hire
**Starting Salary:** $80,000/year — higher depending on experience

##### Position Overview

Seeking an experienced structural steel fabrication leader to oversee daily production across two nearby facilities and multiple shifts. This position provides hands-on leadership to shop supervisors while maintaining focus on safety, quality, production efficiency, equipment, staffing, and delivery schedules.

The ideal candidate has extensive structural steel experience and a strong understanding of **AISC and AWS standards**, coating requirements, fabrication processes, and industrial safety practices.

##### Key Responsibilities

- Direct day-to-day fabrication activities across two facilities.

- Lead production supervisors and coordinate work across multiple shifts.

- Oversee safety, quality, productivity, equipment, facility maintenance, and production schedules.

- Monitor fabrication projects from production through shipping and ensure delivery commitments are met.

- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, workforce development, and performance guidance.

- Support recruiting, retention, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.

- Identify production challenges and opportunities for process improvement.

- Coordinate activities between multiple departments and ensure efficient workflow.

- Manage priorities across complex and heavy structural steel fabrication projects.

- Support scheduling, staffing decisions, disciplinary actions, and other operational needs.

- Maintain compliance with applicable safety, quality, and fabrication standards.

##### Departments

Experience overseeing multiple fabrication functions, including:

- Receiving & Inventory

- CNC Processing

- Structural Steel Fabrication & Welding

- Painting/Coatings

- Shipping

##### Requirements

- 7+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.

- 5+ years of leadership experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or production.

- Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1; CWI certification is preferred but not required.

- Experience working in an AISC-certified fabrication environment.

- Experience managing large, heavy, or complex steel fabrication projects.

- Working knowledge of SSPC and ASTM coating requirements.

- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication operations, workflows, and production practices.

- Experience leading multiple departments and production teams.

- Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to anticipate production issues and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Authorized to work in the United States.
