##### Industrial Coatings Painter – Sandblasting

**Location:** Cocoa Beach, FL
**Job Type:** Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
**Shift:** 2nd Shift
**Starting Pay:** $25.00/hour + $3.00/hour night differential, with higher pay available based on experience

##### Job Overview

Seeking an experienced **Industrial Painter/Sandblaster** to prepare metal surfaces and apply protective industrial coatings. This position requires experience with blasting, spray application, coating inspection, and working safely in challenging environments.

##### Key Responsibilities

- Prepare steel and metal surfaces through sandblasting, removing rust, scale, and existing coatings.

- Apply industrial coatings such as epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich primers.

- Operate airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.

- Use technical drawings, work orders, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to complete coating work accurately.

- Check coating application and thickness to meet project specifications.

- Inspect painting and blasting equipment and perform minor adjustments or repairs when needed.

- Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and changing environmental conditions.

- Follow required PPE, confined-space, height, and general jobsite safety procedures.

- Document surface preparation, coating applications, job progress, and quality-control information.

- Maintain a clean and safe work area while working as part of a team.

##### Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.

- 2–3 years of industrial painting and sandblasting experience.

- Experience operating airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment.

- Knowledge of metal surface preparation, sandblasting, and masking techniques.

- Familiarity with epoxy, urethane, and zinc-rich coating systems.

- Ability to read technical drawings, work orders, and SDS documents.

- Understanding of coating thickness requirements and measurement tools.

- Knowledge of PPE and safety practices for confined spaces and elevated work.

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.

- Availability for flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime.

- Strong attention to detail, documentation, quality control, communication, and teamwork.
