**Job Summary:**

The OEM Field Service Technician 1 performs hands-on installation, inspection, and basic troubleshooting of low and medium voltage electrical equipment at customer sites. This role requires fundamental electrical wiring skills, the ability to read wire schematics, and strong attention to detail to ensure all work meets quality and safety standards. This position works closely with the project team, following the direction of the Project Manager and senior technicians to contribute to safe, accurate, and on-time project completion.

**Duties/Responsibilities:**

Inspection & Quality Checks

- Perform point-to-point checks to ensure all connections are properly established and functioning.

- Ensure all electrical connections meet quality and safety standards prior to sign-off.

- Inspect wire whiskers and other termination points for defects or irregularities; address any issues found promptly.

- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections as directed.

Electrical Wiring & Terminations

- Install conduit, wire, cable, and devices in accordance with project specifications and applicable electrical codes.

- Properly terminate wires per specifications to ensure safe and reliable operation of equipment.

- Perform wiring check-out and assist with system start-up under the direction of senior technicians.

Schematic Reading & Documentation

- Interpret and apply wiring schematics to accurately perform installations, terminations, and repairs.

- Utilize wiring schematics as a reference tool during troubleshooting activities.

- Use Microsoft Excel to manage and track progress, data, and reports related to ongoing projects.

General Responsibilities

- Follow all site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols and PPE requirements.

- Communicate clearly with peers, the Project Manager, General Contractor, and customers regarding daily tasks and priorities.

Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization's goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

**Attributes/Abilities:**

- Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check.

- Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test.

- Positive attitude that inspires teamwork and productivity.

- Technical proficiency in reading wire schematics and basic electrical wiring techniques.

- Eagerness to learn with the ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate efficiently with the General Foreman and team members.

- Dependable and consistent in fulfilling job responsibilities and completing assigned tasks.

**Experience and Education:**

- High school diploma/GED, trade school, or technical school certificate or diploma required.

- 1–3 years of electrical experience, preferably in a data center or industrial environment.

- Relevant certifications preferred: Technician License, NETA 1, OSHA 10.

- Experience with power distribution system equipment — low and medium voltage (480V–48kV).

**Physical Requirements:**

- Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.

- Potential exposure to various conditions including dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust.

- Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- May require occasional travel.

Actual pay depends on factors such as work location and market, skills, education, experience, and other job-related qualifications. Beyond base pay, POWERX offers a full benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off and leave benefits. Eligible roles may include additional compensation such as bonuses or incentives.

Virginia Pay Range (Hourly)$35—$45 USD
