**Phoebe Work** · New York City

Apply: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/phoebe-work/1ffe3e63-2163-447e-a8b0-1fff8b87e0ca

## About the role

We are looking for interns for **Fall or Winter** (September 2026 - December 2026) and (January 2027 - April 2027). We can also accommodate different periods of time and sponsor Visa's if needed.

Feel free to apply if you're interested in UI/UX or are looking for a ML research intern role as well!

#### About Phoebe

Phoebe is modernizing America's home healthcare infrastructure. This is the coordination layer for one of the largest labor markets in the country.

We're looking for hungry, high-throughput generalist engineers as we scale into the multi-millions over the next 6 months.

**About You**

We're looking for hungry, high-throughput generalist engineers as we scale into the multi-millions over the next 6 months. You might want to start your own company one day, but aren’t sure what to build yet. You might have spent time at a larger unicorn and want to join a fast growing startup with PMF.

You will:

- Get a clear view into engineering, product, go-to-market, and the iterative loop that connects all 3

- Learn the Vertical AI playbookhow to embed into an industry, learn the domain, and build LLM-driven workflows to automate it.

- How to generate demand with modern GTM techniques across B2B and B2C
**What You'll Build**

- Voice and SMS agents that automate the 24/7 shift lifecycle (confirmations, clock-ins, notes, last-minute coverage)

- LLM orchestration across prompt engineering, tool use, context management, and evals that keep agents reliable as we scale

- Internal ops tooling so our team can monitor agent performance, handle edge cases, and onboard new customers fast

- Reliability and observability improvements across our voice and messaging infrastructure

- Full-stack features from data model to API to UI, shipped to real customers within days **Your First 90 Days**

- Month 1: Ship something real. You'll pair-program with the team immediately and ship features within your first week. By the end of month one, you'll own a complete feature from design to production.

- Month 2: Go deep on the orchestration layer. You'll improve reliability and observability across our voice and messaging stack, and contribute to how we evaluate agent quality at scale.

- Month 3: Take ownership. You'll scope and lead a feature area yourself, such as a new EHR integration, an improvement to the talent agent product, or better tooling for our ops team. **Our Tech**

- React / TypeScript / Vite on the frontend

- FastAPI / Python on the backend

- Postgres (RDS)

- Twilio for voice and SMS

- LLMs throughout

- AWS

- Linear, Notion **You're a Good Fit If**

- You're a strong generalist who can work across the stack

- You stay on the cutting edge of AI dev workflows and love using coding agents to automate engineering, observability, and the entire development workflow.

- You ship fast and iterate based on real usage

- You're comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out as you go

- You've worked with LLMs in production (or are eager to)

- You want to be early at a company that's growing very quickly
**What We Offer**

- Interesting, high-leverage work at a company growing very fast

- Above market salary

- Small team where your work ships to customers immediately

- In-person in NYC - we work in the same room

- Multiple second-time founders to learn from - Justin (CEO) sold Bayes (YC S19) to Airtable. Dave built and sold Kamana, an app for travel nurses.
