Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives. ##### About the role We're looking for a Test and Validation Engineer to join our Hardware & Firmware organisation in Stockholm. You'll own how we test the electronics the team designs, and you'll build the fixtures and boards that make that testing possible. Every new PCB revision comes through you for bring-up and verification. You'll write the test plans that check a board against its requirements, design the fixtures and test boards that run them, automate what's worth automating, and take failures down to root cause so the fix lands in the next design revision. Our devices have to give the same reading in every clinic, every time. That makes verification a design input, which is why this role sits close to the design work and starts early in a project. ##### What you'll do - Bring up and verify new PCB revisions across the team's designs - Design test fixtures and test PCBs yourself, schematic through layout - Write and execute verification test plans against requirements - Build automated test setups and the scripting behind them - Troubleshoot EMC pre-compliance failures and feed what you find back into the design - Take failures to root cause, and turn the answer into a design change - Bring test thinking into design reviews early, so boards arrive testable - ##### What you bring - Hands-on lab skills: oscilloscope, DMM, logic analyser, and bench debugging of real hardware - Schematic capture and PCB design, enough to build your own test fixtures and test boards - Test scripting and automation in Python or similar - Strong analogue and digital fundamentals - Able to read a requirement and say how you'd test it, including when it isn't testable as written - Comfortable owning the test approach for a board and explaining the reasoning behind it - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or equivalent practical experience - Fluent English (C1 or above) ##### Bonus points - Medical devices or another regulated industry, or familiarity with IEC 60601 - EMC pre-compliance work, particularly time spent in a chamber with a failure - Sensor signal conditioning and analogue front ends - Instrument control and automated test frameworks: LabVIEW, PyVISA, TestStand - Design for test on boards heading into volume production ##### Why join this team You'd own the test approach for all the hardware this team designs, and you design the fixtures and test boards behind it yourself, schematic through layout. There's real electronics design work inside this role, which is part of why it's a good route towards design engineering if that's where you want to end up. The hierarchy is flat and the design team is in Stockholm with you, so the distance between finding a problem and changing a design is short. You'll be in the design reviews from the start.
