# Product Manager

**FirstWork** · India

## About FirstWork

Firstwork is a next-generation HR platform designed specifically for companies with dynamic workforce needs. Our mission is to streamline and automate key HR processes to help businesses operate more efficiently and effectively.

What We Do (for now):

(1) Smart Onboarding 📋: Our platform simplifies the onboarding process by automating the collection and verification of credentials, such as right-to-work documents, insurance forms and driver’s licenses. This reduces administrative burden and accelerates the time-to-productivity for new hires.

(2) AI-Assisted Activation 🤖: Leveraging AI, we enhance communication and messaging for new hires, ensuring they receive timely and relevant information. This helps in better engagement and faster integration into their roles.

(3) Perpetual Compliance ✅: Our system uses AI and OCR technology to continuously monitor and ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements. This includes tracking expirations of critical documents, updating records, and generating compliance reports, thus reducing the risk of penalties and legal issues.

## About the role

FirstWork is a forward-deployed applied-AI company for frontline hiring, the largest and most heavily regulated labour market in the world. One platform carries a worker from application through onboarding, compliance verification, training and payroll, for enterprise customers across 40+ countries and a dozen-plus languages. Our AI agents run that work rather than assisting someone who still does it: document agents validate credentials against policy, browsing agents operate government portals that have no API, and voice agents screen and follow up with candidates.

The scale is live, at roughly 50,000 new applicants a week and 2.5 million API requests a day. We bill on usage, per document validated and per agent action executed.

We are looking for a Product Manager to own a core product surface and the AI capabilities within it.

#### What you'll do

- Own the strategy, roadmap and outcomes for a core product surface.

- Build and ship AI-powered product features using LLMs and agent-based workflows.

- Innovate and enhance product capabilities, from new feature development to improving the maturity, accuracy and performance of existing features.

- Define where an AI agent acts autonomously, where it hands off to a human, and what the audit trail records.

- Specify decision logic, including decision trees, approval thresholds, exception routing and reason codes.

- Define evaluation criteria for AI features: accuracy targets, evaluation datasets, regression detection and release readiness.

- Decide what becomes a shared platform capability and what becomes customer configuration.

- Design configuration so customer-specific requirements land as settings, rules and policy objects rather than code.

- Own funnel, adoption and quality metrics, along with the instrumentation behind them.

- Track unit economics for the features you own, including model cost and latency.

- Run discovery with customers and translate their workflows into product requirements.

- Work closely with engineering and design to ship in short cycles against live volume.

#### What we look for

- 4+ years of product management experience on B2B SaaS, workflow, operations or platform products.

- Ownership of a complex platform or workflow product, such as a configurable multi-tenant system, a rules or policy engine, a workflow automation engine or an integration platform.

- Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features to production, including prompt design, structured output, tool calling, fallback handling and evaluation.

- Strong technical depth across data models, state machines, decision trees, and API and webhook behaviour.

- Ability to work directly with engineers on design. This is not a functional product role.

- Comfort pulling and interrogating your own data.

- Clear written communication, with specifications precise enough to build from.

- Customer-facing confidence in both discovery and escalation conversations.

#### Bonus

- Experience with agentic systems, orchestration frameworks or tool-calling architectures.

- Document AI, OCR, extraction or classification pipelines.

- Voice or conversational products.

- HR tech, ATS, staffing, workforce management or high-volume hiring.

- Compliance, verification, identity or payroll products.

- Usage-based or consumption pricing models.

- SQL proficiency.

- Experience working in AI-first or fast-moving product teams.Firstwork is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
